President Donald Trump, in a CBS News interview that aired Monday morning, abruptly ended the conversation after declining to discuss the thought process behind his unfounded allegation that his predecessor had wiretapped Trump Tower. Trump in a flurry of tweets in early March said he had learned Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower last year, calling the prospect McCarthyism and labeling Obama a “bad (or sick) man.” He has provided no proof and Obama’s team has refuted the claim as false. The congressional intelligence committees and the FBI have yet to find evidence to support Trump’s accusation. CBS’ chief White House correspondent John Dickerson asked Trump whether he stood by his claim....

“I don’t stand by anything,” the president responded. “You can take it the way you want. I think our side’s been proven very strongly. And everybody’s talking about it. And frankly it should be discussed. I think that is a very big surveillance of our citizens. ... And we should find out what the hell is going on.” The president added, “You don’t have to ask me. ... Because I have my own opinions. You can have your own opinions.”

Reminded that his opinion is important because he is the president, Trump politely but curtly ended the interview. “OK, it’s enough. Thank you. Thank you very much,” he said.
Presented with an opportunity to expound upon the evidence/rationale behind his wiretapping tweets of March 4, Trump avoided the golden moment and immediately terminated the interview.

As always, running away from defending his wild assertions and 'alternate facts'.

It hurts my brain to listen to him speak. My 7-year old can piece together sentences better than Trump.

Its funny. The reporters have to be completely ****ing retarded or beyond mindless leftist shills to believe the allegations are 'unfounded'. Clear evidence has been presented (and finally admitted to) that shows that not only did they inadvertently record members of the Trump campaign team (and then Obama admin officials ordered those recordings unmasked and they were later distributed and illegally released) but that in fact specific wiretapping warrants were sought on several occasions and gained (through what turns out the use of known fraudulent documents).

At some point, all you can do is laugh at the mindless ****ing trolls in the media that continue to try and argue that since Obama personally didnt shimmy down a pole and plant a bug specifically in Donald Trumps personal phone, that none of what we know happend is actually evidence that yes, in fact, the Obama administration did indeed wiretap a political opponent.

There's nothing to expound on. He made a public and thus far totally unproven accusation that his predecessor committed a crime, and he hopes that it will just be swept under the rug. You aren't surprised by this, are you? Under normal circumstances, this would be a disgraceful action. This is Trump, and his supporters find him so dreamy that he can accuse anyone of anything, and they'll still love the man.

I'm not a fan of liars, and he lied. Calling Obama a "sick" man is just one more ignorant thing I've come to expect from this teenager masquerading as a Republican President.

"I don't stand by anything."

We know, Donny. We know.

I like the whole “I don’t stand by anything,” comment. May be the most honest thing he's said to date.

You post belongs in the Fan Fiction aisle of your local bookstore.

There is so much "clear evidence" that Trump failed to present any in the interview and instead ended it. :lamo

Apparently we have a few 'journalists' on this site as well.

I think Obama should point out he had more important things to do than bug Donald.
I thought Donald's golden moment was the golden rain with Russian hookers

Umm actually it was proven. It was even in the news that people in his campaign staff had their conversations recorded.
They had to finally come out an admit that they were in fact bugging his campaign staff.

they even had some of his conversations recorded when he tried to talk to them.

Apparently we have at least one alternative fact kool-aid drinker... :2wave:

But to be clear what has been 'proven' is Soviet Operatives were monitored and Trump people were talking to them. What spun up from there is a bit blurry but what isn't blurry is-

Obama never ordered the Trump Tower wire tapped...

Go back to your favorite beverage, you're gonna need a lot of it in the future... :peace

No, it wasn't proven. Just the opposite. Devin Nunes said it didn't happen. Incidental surveillance isn't the same thing as ordering a direct tap. Trump lied.

None of your incoherent rambling addresses the fact that our president pissed his pants when challenged to explain his own statements.

Or people who understand what facts are...

Farkas, Rice, known FISA warrants, an admitted history of unmasking specifically targeting Trump campaign officials...and your best response is "Un UH!!!"

Just one of many. Susan Rice lied bout her involvement then later admitted it like it was nothing new.

Whats laughable is you people think its someone ELSE drinking that kool-aid. You have eaten **** sandwiches for the Obama administration for going into your 9th year now. You must REALLY LOVE those **** sandwiches.

Lol, Mr. Reality Star couldn't run away from the CBS camera fast enough.
