Key lawmakers balk at Donald Trump’s wall request

The biggest hit will be shared by Mexican businesses selling products in the US and the Mexican Treasury as the long term result will be a sharp drop in tax revenue.

Which will provide money for the wall, how again?

You do understand what tarriffs are, don't you?
Then why didn't Trump institute such punitive tariffs months ago when the Mexican president personally refused Trumps extortion?

Mexico was never going to pay for Trumps wall. You just don't quite understand yet that you've been had.

Give him a bit more time to decide on which course of action. He has only been president for 100 days. And it's you that has been had. Your party did not nominate Hillary Von Pant Suit. They coronated her. And she still lost.

Baloney.....

Donald Trump’s presidential announcement speech - Jun 16 said:
"I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great great wall on our southern border and I’ll have Mexico pay for that wall."

Trump has had at a minimum 1½ years to figure this out. Don't you get it? The wall - paid for by Mexico - was political fly-casting.

LOL! What a silly, non response answer. Of course, I know what tariffs are. Do you know who pays for them in the end? Hint: They raise prices at the retail level. And who pays for those goods at the retail level? Hint: It's not the exporter.

Have patience. Trump has made a fool of the left more then once already. He will again.

You do understand what competition is, don't you? Tarriffs will hurt the Mexican economy. However in the meantime, the tariffs will finance the wall.

The Mexican companies will not pay the tariffs. The consumers will pay the tariffs, or they will buy the same goods from another country. Tariffs will not make Mexico pay for the wall.

On the other hand, the wall will be a real boon to certain entities in Mexico, particularly the drillers of tunnels and the manufacturers of ladders. They won't be paying any tariffs, however, as their goods and services are for domestic consumption.

It's Trump [and his neophytes] playing the fool. Mexico isn't paying and Congress ain't appropriating.

Tariffs? 1.3 million US jobs depend on substantial trade with Mexico. The US trade deficit with Mexico in 2016 was $63.2 billion.

U.S. imports from Mexico account for 13.4% of overall U.S. imports. U.S. exports to Mexico account for 15.9% of overall U.S. exports.

Do the reciprocity math.
