Bill O’Reilly Is Forced Out at Fox News

Rush work for someone again? Replace one old white guy with another old white guy?

Fox can do better, much better.

He wouldn't do TV again, unless he owned the network, and even then I'd bet he wouldn't. His TV appearances are rare.

I think that, with Ailes out, that will finally happen.

Bill O'Racist may be gone, but there are plenty of Trumpanzees who still watch FOX News. They are the reason for Faux News Propaganda. All Bill O'Racist did was to carry their water.

I cannot say I will miss Billo's fake war on Xmas, makes me want to puke up a plastic baby jesus

Actually, Tucker Carlson would be a good replacement. He talks intelligently, and doesn't drool from the mouth (either from ogling women or due to a better IQ).
He's a Sophomoric lightweight: a double-talking teen.
He conspicuously lacks the Gravitas they need to anchor their nightly BS.

No one has the Goebbelsian 'Big Lie' covered like Trump>Spicer. No Network. No one.
ie, in 30 dizzying seconds, Mr Birther tried to erase 5 years... and blamed it on... Hillary!
No apology, no nothing.

And Trumpov is just a manifestation/Third Molesting Pillar of the group - on tape. He could not have been elected with Fox.

Lumping CNN in with MSNBC and Fox just shows your politics.
CNN leans a bit liberal, but Nothing like the other two Infomercials.

Last time I tuned into CNN was a couple of days ago, CNN was harping on Trump's tax returns. The other networks were covering North Korea. I have seen stuff like that again and again. It is true from my perspective that CNN isn't as bad as MSNBC from the left. But left they are and always have been since the days Ted Turner owned CNN.

Agree, though there does not seem to be much too choose from, Tucker could fill in, though he is a bit too Harvard for the beer drinking crowd that frequents the network.

Good.

First Ailes, then O'Reilly. Hannity would make it a perfect trifecta. Bonus points if Shep Smith brings the charges!

You think Hannity is a sexual predator as well?

Well, there goes a crazy right wing fanatic. Who'll miss him???

If you view him as a crazy right wing fanatic, I wonder what you think of actual crazy right wing fanatics.

Fox's prime time lineup isn't looking quite as "prime time" as it did not too long ago. Their ratings are sure to suffer.

Probably true in the short term. But Fox has been pretty successful at replacing its talent without missing many steps. We'll see.

Putting CNN as partisan would seem to be indicative of your POV.

I'm no different than everyone else. I have my own POV's on many different things. But I don't rely on a political party or a news network to make up my mind for me. That I do by myself. The way I see it CNN does lean towards the left and the Democratic Party. It always has ever since the days of Ted Tuner ownership of it. Sometimes way left, other times CNN drifts closer to center left, but the lean has always been there.

Now someone further left than me may not view it as such. Some further right than me don't think Fox leans right either. It's all a matter of perspectives. I do approach politics from a traditional conservative POV or in other words if asked to describe my politics. I would say I am a Goldwater conservative with some of Perot thrown in. But I am not beholden to any political party. FYI, a traditional conservative isn't even close to today's neo-conservatives. There is as much difference between the two as there are a classic liberal and today's so call progressives.

It is a shame that CNN does not even attempt to be non partisan, I now only tune in for major breaking REAL news. I am far from a Trump fan, but its like CNN and Trump hate 24/7, similar to Fox and it's 8 year Obama hatefest.

Lost Megan because they'd rather treat her like a second rate human than stand up to President ***** grabber. Lost O'Reilly because he's an attempted ***** grabber. Lost Ailes because he's been grabbin snatches since the 50's. I think I see a pattern here. Should change their slogan from Fair and Balanced to a pair of pushy testicles.

I can respect this, Perotista.

And your delineation between classical liberalism and today's progressivism is a good one. I think much of what is defined as liberalism today is better defined as "Democratic Partyism"!

Liberalism in it's classical sense embraces a fair amount of today's libertarianism. It's essentially rooted in "freedom" and "liberty".

I dunno...there's probably a reason why he never lasted very long at any of the other jobs he's had.

I agree.

But I am glad CNN is going after the Trump Cabal. Many of those big stories (Flynn for example) were broken by CNN causing Trump to back peddle from his double-down stances. It's needed for the Fourth Estate to keep government in check, and moreso now than ever. There's very little functioning checks and balances against Trump, since we now have one party control of government. If Nixon were in office today, he would remain so since the Democratic Congress that brought him down is gone. So now, it's up to the media to step-up.

Kool-Aid has a beer flavor now? Damn, you learn something new every day.

I wish ALL the news shows would drop the 'BREAKING NEWS', 'NEWS ALERT' and all the other crap trying to garner eyeballs. When there is actual breaking news it is diluted due to always crying 'WOLF'.

That's probably a good way to look at it. It does seem to me that prior to Trump, CNN was making an effort to move toward the middle. More non-partisan. Perhaps CNN knows they will never get back Fox viewers and never those viewers that have gone to MSNBC. Trying to attract the center, center left and center right viewership seemed to me a good strategy.

It also seems CNN has abandoned that strategy.

That's anecdotal, not debate.
The fact is if you want News, you watch CNN, or better yet, just a half hour a 6:30 PM on NBC/CBS/ABC.
Fox and MSNBC are pure and unabashedly partisan.

I always get a kick out of Fox 'News'. They only, and and tellingly, have One Minute "News BREAKS" at the top and bottom of the Hour!
Don't they realize the irony?

CNN Prime Time does have a 'Race' obsession, and can spend 3 hours (or 3 days) on one 'cop-shot-black' story, stirring up demonstrations when none would have happened otherwise.

CNN does seem to promote a progressive agenda, at least Maddow fesses up about her allegiance, you don't like switch off. Sad I have to rely on mostly foreign news sources. Local news is different, overall I believe most do a good job of staying in the middle.

I can't stand Hannity. But for reasons I can't explain, he just doesn't seem to me to be in the Ailes/O'Reilly mold in these matters.

But who knows, with Fox?

Fox let Ailes promote an overt culture of "sex sells", and it came back to bite them. Good for them!

I never liked Hannity. I used to watch Bill O' Rielly with my grandfather when I would visit him, he never missed an episode.

I wonder if he hadn't passed away several years ago what he would feel about this scandal. I was given all the books O'Rielly wrote as gifts when I was younger and was familiar with the show. It kind of hurts to know I respected the guy at least.
