U.S. Carl Vinson Carrier Wasn’t on Way to North Korea

If this was a chapter from a Louis de Bernières novel, it would be funny (sort of). This is real life, ergo it's not funny.

Awww, Hell, Australia is just a stone's throw from North Korea.

Besides, Trump couldn't even remember that gentleman's name, let alone where his country is located!

you are stretching the same amount. I can certainly admit he made a mistake, but did he? Or did the press? He did say in the beginning that he would NOT broadcast his intentions/plans to the enemy, so I doubt he would give any specifics as to when it was heading or when it would get there.

He won't broadcast what he doesn't have.

That is called Bull****.

What is it with the Trump haters that they have to invent these memes?

I've checked, and I see the Navy confirming the Carl Vinson battle group will be heading to the area around the Korean Peninsula as reported. I have not seen any statement by President Trump claiming a specific date when the battle group was going to be there.

I, like everyone else, went by news reports claiming it was on it's way, and assumed the media reports that there were Chinese and Russian intelligence ships shadowing them while they "steamed" North were true.

So where is the mistake? Is the carrier force going to be going to the area around Korea? The Navy has confirmed it will be doing so.

So other than the media falling on it's face in it's time table, which to me reveals they have been making stuff up, what is not happening that the President said would happen?

Trump is a self-centered, lying moron with the intelligence and temperament of a 4 year old.

He creates his own memes when his lips move.

That's an interesting observation.

I'm constantly reminded of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" when I see confirmation of the cognitive dissonance that appears to be infecting many of the Trump detractors on these threads.

The comments on this thread alone provide a perfect example of this growing condition among them.

Trump is the guy who didn't know where his armada wuz.

How many consider it wise to broadcast the movement of our military resources?

If we were really ramping up to go to war with NK, why would it be a good idea to tell the world and NK that X is positioning off your coast?
Major countries would know just through sat intelligence.

imo, there is a right for the US public to know. However they don't need to know right this instant.

It was NOT heading there at the time Trump said it was. It would EVENTUALLY head there. Understand present tense and future tense of the English language and then get back with me. You are only proving why Trump has had to read to his supporters at the 4th grade level.

Post his quote, and a link to it. I have not found one myself that implies any time table to his statement. He has stated he is sending "an armada". The Navy has confirmed that is going to happen.

As I wrote before, I was led to believe the group was headed there by media reports claiming as much. Turns out they made it all up.

The carrier group is going to Korea after it completes it's previously scheduled activities. The Navy has confirmed it will be there sometime next week, if I remember correctly. Who do you think ordered it to go there?

Thank you for letting me know your opinion.

Everybody knows.

Look at his approval ratings which are the lowest since they have been recorded.

The man is a lying ****ing moron.

His approval ratings indicate that not everyone shares your opinion, as intelligent are articulate as it is.

Another day, another apology. Seems to be quite the pattern of Donald Dip**** saying something bewildering and the Trumpanzees scramble to massage reality to fit dear leader's **** up.

I don't think they'll ever get it that they're all idiots.

The mistake is Trump saying it was heading the wrong way. He didn't say "Oh it will EVENTUALLY be heading up that way" did he? I swear the stretching that you guys do to defend a **** up is beyond me. What is it about Trump supporters that they can't even admit when he made a mistake?

So if you tell your wife you are going to store A and you go to store B first, you actually lied to her?

I'm trying to understand your absolutist logic without your lumping everything with your constant carping about Trump (some of which is perfectly valid).

Now there are 3 carrier groups heading towards North Korea, any reasonable person would pause and say, "crap, that's a lot of firepower."

They have continued to drop since January.

If his Kool Aid drinkers abstain from their ingestion, the numbers will probably get worse.

Even Charles Manson has fans.

I don't know about that, but I continue to be impressed by the tanker loads of Kool Aid those on the left drown themselves with daily. They don't seem to tire from the effort, or grow repulsed by the aftertaste.

This is, of course, entirely in line with why Trump supporters sent him to Washington.

Three years and eight months to go.

And it is going to be an eternity for you guys, not to mention we have decades to go of a conservative Supreme Court. The whole Trump presidency was worth that all by itself.

They have continued to drop since January.

It would depend on what you read and when you read it. A recent Pew Research poll shows that 97% of Trump voters think he is doing better than expected. His approval ratings declined for a while but are now back up to 50%.

Does anyone ever wonder who is giving him this information? I mean he doesn't just make it up, someone is telling him they are/will sending the carrier, and then doesn't send it? Before calling me a Trumpeteer or whatever cute names out there, can you just think about this for a second? People say how dumb he is right? So you're then going to accept that he came up with this idea on his own? It almost appears like they keep setting him up. I just don't buy it.

It just might be that Trump doesn't process information well. I don't believe he has the ability to focus on much of anything. In a odd way he has had a limited life and hasn't experienced the world in the way that most humans to. If it a topic isn't related to Trump he has little interest in it unless the topic money. With that in mind he has isolated himself from the world. He doesn't read. He watches cable news. He plays golf. If the topic of conversation isn't about him, he isn't interested.

So Trump gets a briefing that he half ass listens to and may read his one page, 6 bulleted daily report that must include pictures. Trump's background knowledge of the world in general, of current history, of government is obviously limited. The Pentagon briefs him. Trump half understands and half listens. Trump goes before the press and says **** off the top of his head because he doesn't know enough or understand enough to be able to provide a concise and succinct statement to the press. The result is Trump often sounds as if he doesn't know what he is talking about and/or he says things he should say. So Trump tells the world the a US "armada" (yes, he said that) was steaming toward North Korea; the USS Carl Vinson carrier group with "the greatest navy the world has ever seen". He also reported that within the group were "submarines that much more powerful than an aircraft carrier. That's all I can tell you about those summaries, but the US Navy is the best in the world."

Generally I don't think the Navy wants to talk much about its submarines, especially their whereabouts. They certainly do not want to discuss capabilities. Trump, however alluded to the submarines with the carrier group and talked as if he had special knowledge and understanding that he couldn't share. What an idiot!

Likely the Pentagon, KNOWING THAT TRUMP HAS THE BRAINS OF A LARGE RABBIT, provides him with as little classified information as possible. Even then he ****s it up.

I tend to believe the reports on Trump and his inability to focus on much more than 1 page of bullet points.

This is much ado about nothing. The Vinson attack group will be near Korea soon. So will the Nimitz and Reagan groups.

looks like the armada is going to go to NK to me. anyone who says that it was implied that it would be ASAP and Trump lied because of that basically wants anything to be POed about Trump. it could very easily be that the media is the one who spun "OMG THE ARMADA IS ON ITS WAY!"

but no, some are just looking for things to hate Trump about... too funny.

Ooops!

So the Carl Vinson Carrier battlegroup is NOT going to the Korean Peninsula ?

I dont get the outrage here, or is this just another false narrative pushed by a dishonest media intended to rile up the uninformed and perpetually butthurt ?

Maybe to make certain people think the carrier was on the way. Tactical deception
The whole world thought a giant armada was close by.
