In Georgia special election, can a Democrat get above 50%?

Whose GOP talk show did you get this from ?

Nobodies. The Democrats are desperate to for a win that they can spin into a reversal of fortune.. and it is no secret that the loss of Ted Kennedy's seat to Scott Brown was the beginning on a really bad streak for Democrats at all levels of government other than the White House.

Scott Brown's win was an organic signal of a changing mood in the country towards Democrats, Democrats are trying to engineer a signal now.. see how many liberal outlets have been posting articles about "Kansas could be a devastating loss for Trump" followed by "Georgia could spell bad times ahead for GOP".. and now "The little known Montana race that could spell doom for trump" ... wash, rinse, repeat. They will keep this up until the manage to actually win one. Georgia was probably their best shot, though.

It's not like any of this is a secret.

I didn't know you get to tell posters when they can 'spout off', OpportunityCost.

Nor did I know you were the grandmaster of reading .

You are crowing like it means something. Unless and until he wins the run off, it really doesn't.

I am not the grandmaster of reading but you aren't really getting what I'm posting, so I thought you should reread it.

Not a very good change of blame at all. It was trump who gave a full-throated defense of O'Reilly and it was trump who injected himself into this GA-6 CD race. Handel wears trump and O'Reilly as GOPs are trying to stick their bogeymen on Ossoff .

I am indifferent to o'reilly

If he stays I'm ok

If he goes I'm ok too

Who cares?

Seeing the electorate flip by 20 points in deep red congressional districts in special elections in which DEMs always perform poorly has GOPs like you running scared. It's good that GOPs are resting on their laurels .
Keep playing that fiddle, Nero.

Keep playing that fiddle, Nero.

Look at it this way, we have Ellison, Sanders and Perez going around trying to show the Democrat party is a big tent party...by having some of the furthest left amongst them doing a tour.

Its an appeal to the base, not to the wider American public.

Actually I think he's a lookout on the Titanic

But like the man said, it aint over till its over so the repubs better get their act together before the runoff

The last election Trump won by one point over Clinton. This kid only recreived 1% more of the vote than
Mrs, Clinton 48 to 47, winning by 1% more than Mrs. Clinton who was humiliated & dumped last November is
nothing to become deliriously giddy about, even you ought to realize that.

Go back to that Russian Collusion stuff & try for that gold medal in Mental Gymnastics.

You say if O'Reilly were a DEM with what trump continues to get away with.

You can't possibly be missing the ground game Ossoff has .

I was referring to Bill "Actual sex predator" Clinton, not locker room bravado Trump.

What ground game? He had a ton of out of district cash, that flow will go away.

Since the Democratic base didn't turn out last year, it's probably a good idea to appeal to them, as well as INDYs and like-minded GOPs .

Check your calendar: mine says 2017 and GOPs have lost about 20% in each of both special elections where DEMs always do poorly.

Have you figured out how much Ossoff got per campaign donor? His donations aren't dark smear GOP money. How much does he have left ? :lamo

The Russian collusion stuff you bring up will be with us during the fall of 2018, no matter how much republicks wish it away.

We didn't even know who this millenial Ossoff was until he announced 1/5/17. All the more reason for the GOP to fear the Millenials, who under voted last year .

re: The thread title

It would seem he might be 72% of the way there!

"As of 10:15 p.m. ET, Ossoff had 50.4% of the vote, with 72% of the vote in, according to Edison Research."

This is being billed as a referendum on Trump. While I can't ascertain that claim, both parties have been throwing tons of resources at this in terms of dollars, media, people, and pols. And Trump himself did 6 Tweets in two days with a robo-call for good luck!

We shall see. But it's looking close.

Georgia has been quite successful forever with conservative southern democrats, however liberal democrats have never really stood a chance there.

If democrats want to ever take states like georgia or texas again for senate and lower govt, they need to bring back the blue dogs, otherwise they are just dreaming away and ignoring reality.

The Dem spent more than all the Repubs combined. He won't have that advantage in June.

Osoff has momentum. Using ads and not going door-to-door is idiocy. If the Dems don't convert, like they knowingly should have done 10 years ago, they deserve to lose.
