Alex Jones may have a problem - if his lawyers are successful

In Travis County custody case, jury will search for real Alex Jones

At a recent pretrial hearing, attorney Randall Wilhite told state District Judge Orlinda Naranjo that using his client Alex Jones’ on-air Infowars persona to evaluate Alex Jones as a father would be like judging Jack Nicholson in a custody dispute based on his performance as the Joker in “Batman.”

“He’s playing a character,” Wilhite said of Jones. “He is a performance artist.”

But in emotional testimony at the hearing, Kelly Jones, who is seeking to gain sole or joint custody of her three children with Alex Jones, portrayed the volcanic public figure as the real Alex Jones.

Lots of money involved and Jones may lose lots in the future if his attorneys win by showing that the whole Infowars thing is nothing more than a schtick for Jones to make money from the gullible.

It's interesting to say the least... not terribly surprising... but interesting.

There was a part of me that believed perhaps he believed what he claimed to believe... But if not the guy deserves an oscar... Because it's the best portrayal of a psycho delusional paranoid schizophrenic there's ever been.

Too funny....I mean, I can't believe that actual rational, normal people believe that Jones is for real....Of course it's a schtick....No one can be that separated from reality, outside of an institution that is....

It's also a cynical, grasping exploitation of ignorant people on a Jimmy Swaggart scale. The guy's saying to a judge, "No, I don't drink snake oil. That'd be crazy. I just sell it to suckers."

Who's the fool?

The fool?

Or the fool who follows him?

Actual rational normal people don't, but just ask Jimmy Swaggart or Peter Popoff how much money you can make taking a dollar each from simple, ignorant suckers. I don't care about the morality of what he does, I just think it's pathetic for him to stand in front of a judge and say, "But your honour! I don't really believe in anything I'm selling to the suckers!"

People like him don't care what they have to say, as long as the greenbacks keep comin.....Jones is a clown....Anyone citing anything from him, or any of the websites he controls should be laughed out of any rational conversation.

This is what happens when an asshole plays a different asshole and has trouble distinguishing one from the other.

We see that in here often....I have no doubt that most of the people in here are different in real life, than their persona's on line....I hope so anyway....

Alex Jones is a disappointment. Just another partisan hack.

Hmmm, do you think that Donald Trump is not an "actual rational, normal" person? I ask because President* Trump seems to think Alex Jones is a reliable news source.
Trump praises 9/11 truther's 'amazing' reputation

Donald Trump is heaping praise on a radio host who has asserted that the U.S. government was involved in the Oklahoma City bombing and the September 11 terrorist attacks.

"Your reputation is amazing. I will not let you down," Trump told Alex Jones during a Wednesday afternoon appearance on the Infowars.com proprietor's show. Jones shared the love, telling Trump that "my audience, 90% of them, they support you."

Just in case you don't believe CNN
Alex Jones: Trump called to thank me

President-elect Trump reportedly called Alex Jones, a radio host and noted conspiracy theorist, to thank him for his support during the presidential campaign, according to a video on Infowars.

Jones, who's become known for conspiracy theories such as the government's role in carrying out the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and the Obama administration orchestrating the slaughter of 22 schoolchildren in Connecticut, said in a video released this weekend that Trump thanked him and his listeners for their support.

Trump promised to appear on Jones' Infowars radio show soon.

Yeah, still not buyin' it...I doubt that Trump gives Jones two thoughts....

Just shows how everything in a divorce case is a farce

eg. "O'Reilly was choking me", "Bannon was physically abusive"

When money and property sharing are at stake, then the more extreme the claim you make, the better

In this case, it is Jones making the "extreme" claims. He blames George Soros for modern marijuana being too strong.
During cross-examination, Jones’ personal life was questioned aggressively by ex-wife Kelly Jones’ attorney. The subject of Jones’ alcohol and drug use came up.

Jones said he sometimes smokes marijuana — nearly yearly — “to monitor its strength, which is how law enforcement does it.” He then added that he tested it because he believes it is now too strong — a development he blamed on billionaire and political donor George Soros, whom he claimed in court has “brain damaged a lot of people.”

Jones addressed his marijuana use last February on the popular Joe Rogan podcast, noting that it was legal in California where the show was taped and that “everybody smokes marijuana on that show.”

Then Jones seems to have a problem understanding that his lawyer is trying to defend Jones behaviour in public and while broadcasting, by saying it is "performance art"
While the custody case is, at its core, about Jones’ three children, national media attention has been thrust onto the case over a defense laid out by Jones' lawyers in jury selection — that Alex Jones’ most offensive and provocative rants may be “performance art” or “political satire.”

But Thursday on the witness stand, Jones denied this and chastised the media — many of which were in attendance in the gallery — for their spin. He said he agreed with his lawyer’s statements “in general” but added, “I disagree with the media’s interpretation of the term 'performance art.'”

In March while giving a deposition, Jones couldn't remember his children's teachers' names, blaming it on the big bowl of chili he had for lunch that day.
