BERKELEY, Calif. -- Police say at least 15 people have been arrested after violence broke out Saturday between groups of supporters and detractors of President Trump holding rallies in downtown Berkeley, California.

Nearly 200 people were at Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park when several people started pushing each other. Dozens of police officers in riot gear were standing nearby and quickly arrested one man.

In a statement, the Berkeley Police Department said that a large number of fights continued and that they are anticipating more arrests. Berkeley protests: 15 arrested as pro- and anti-Trump demonstrators clash - CBS News

I just don't understand why some simply can't allow peaceful assembly to happen.

I've read that neither group filed for a permit. But even if both groups had, I think this would have happened.

Some of the violence was probably from self-identified liberals, but we need to remember that there are anarchist cells all over the U.S. who make it their job to turn protests violent. They want to see the First Amendment systems fall apart ASAP.

I disagree. No matter if the pro-Trump rally had a permit or not, they would have been attacked. This has become the norm.

Hmm. An interesting thought. Examine, for a moment, what these 'juveniles' have been exposed to their entire education lives.
Seemingly little more than a marginalization of any thought other than the liberal / progressive thought that their teachers and professors have instilled in them. . . . .

You reap what you sow.

Dunno for sure, but if someone did, I think I'd end up putting a real hurt on them (broken bones, spine, etc).
The real target is not at skin contract, it's about 6" to 8" further (humans are squishy).

The violence and property destruction that I'm seeing is coming from the indoctrinated leftists who can't seem to handle that there just might be others who disagree with their thought and positions, and whom they have no problem in the lest of suppressing their 1st amendment rights, by whatever means necessary.

Kinda strikes directly at the heart of what this nation was founded on, and yet they don't realize it, and if they do, aren't bothered by it.

You may want to read about what happened, find out who actually attacked whom, and maybe watch the numerous videos showing the actual encounter, before you assign blame so blindly.

With the violent nature of Antifa protestors around this country and overseas, anyone that wants to demonstrate in favor of Trump better come prepared to defend themselves from the almost assured physical attacks from the Antifa hooded and masked hordes of violent hatred.
