Spicer has apologized for making that quote, but Jewish groups are still demanding that Trump fire him.

I will defend Spicer here. He isn't a holocaust denier. He is just a ****ing moronic asshole.

Agreed. He just made a really ****ing stupid statement, which he should have apologized for the moment he said it, rather than pulling out the idiot card, and doubling down on it further.

My feelings on this administration are not especially...positive. That said, this is getting blown out of proportion.

Spicer is an unbelievable idiot, but I watched the video and I didn't see or hear a holocaust denier, I saw a guy who panicked because he had no idea what the narrative was supposed to be. Between the fact that nobody in the entire administration is on the same page, and that it is impossible for someone in his job to have a clue whether distrust of Assad and/or Putin fits into any cohesive existing policy due to Trump's personal feelings about Putin, the FBI's ongoing investigation into collusion with Russia and the public's concern for that potential collusion, Spicer simply didn't know what to do.

Is it beneficial to praise or condemn Assad? Is he supposed to praise or condemn Putin? Does a position on either deepen or lessen the collusion scandal? He doesn't know because I sincerely doubt he's even briefed by the President.

And so Spicer just kept ad libbing it, eventually and inevitably sticking both feet thoroughly into his mouth.

So his problem is that his job is an impossible situation and he's not bright enough to navigate it. But that guy's no holocaust denier.

He is a buffoon. He is not fluent in English. He is incompetent. He has no idea who the leader of Australia is or Syria.

But he might be a cute bunny.

While I agree that Spicer is not a holocaust denier I do think he should be fired for the other being the jerk you called him.

Trump creates enough of a mess by himself. He needs a spokesperson who will clean that up not create more headaches for the administration.
 
I would fire him.

He has already made a host of mistakes and is a laughing stock (SNL helping with that).

Right from his first news conference he has looked out-of-control and not-terribly-bright.

You need someone in that position who ALWAYS remains calm and is VERY bright...he is neither.

Were I Trump, I would use this as an excuse to replace him.

On it's own, this gaffe would not be grounds for dismissal for me. But add it all up and I think he should go.
 
I think things like this are a major flaw trump needs to get a handle on. Trump and his staff want talk to the people just like I talk with family and friends.

He and his staff are just going to have to stop. They need to get professionally written speeches of utter meaningless politically correct nonsense and tell the people what they want to hear. Talking candidly is too dangerous when millions people are looking to twist any thing you say into a political nightmare. It is difficult even with professionally prepared speeches to stop everyone from figuring out a way to twist what you wanted to say into something totally different.

Certainly not a denier but definitely dumb thing to say. Maybe he should be fired for being a moronic asshole. Then again, if we fired everyone in the Trump administration who was a moronic asshole, there wouldn't be many left.

The problem is everyone in Trump's administration has their own playbook instead of copies of trump's. mostly because trump really doesn't have one he wants to share outside his family. I doubt even Tillerson has a copy.

To avoid ignorant on the record statements you don't need 'meaningless politically correct nonsense'. You need a lick of sense, an understanding you speak for the leader of the free world and not your Aunt Mabel... :roll:

No one needs to twist anything Trump or his minions say on the record- Team Trump does an OUTstanding job on their own... :peace

I can't even stand to listen to him he insults my intelligence so badly. I'm not really sure if there is anybody that can clean up Trump without lying like Spicer does.

I have misspoken thousands of times in my life. I am by no means perfect. I have used the wrong name for someone even though I know their name. I have made the statement that the US has not used gas on it's people and was wrong. That is the unfortunate thing of talking casually with friends and making a speech. Also in a speech you have professional people proof read and edit your speech to try and convey your message without leaving your opponents any possible way to twist what you say into something you did not want to say.

When talking casually with family and friends my objective is to get the intended message from the person talking to me not try and figure out a way to twist what they said into something I can use to hurt them. If you cannot understand that then there is no use going any further with this conversation.

The left has no intention of hearing what Trump is trying to convey but is obsessed with Trying to figure out how they can use anything he said to hurt him or twist what he is trying to convey into something else. This is a fact. If you can't see that then again their is no use continuing this conversation. In conversation with friends or family you have never misspoken.
 
I think Spicer is a perfect fit for the Trump admin. I don't think he's stupid, I think he's choosing to defend stupid day in and day out, it's his job.
Can you imagine anyone that Trump would allow in that position that could do better? How could they do better? Tell the truth? They'd be fired. Not be a bully? They'd get eaten alive based on the absurdities they have to defend.

I just heard Spicer try to explain himself, again, to Greta VanSustern. He spent several minutes just blathering instead of simply saying "What I said was wrong. I'm sorry."

He just needs to shut up.
