I think he was amazing to watch and listen too. He was always just amazingly funny IMHO.

Terrible news. I remember when he was on Johnny Carson in the 70s and 80s. He looked 80 then. Much like Abe Vigoda.

Condolences to the Rickles family and friends. He had a fantastic career and millions upon millions of fans! So many of us felt like we knew him.

A back story involving my dad -

When Rickles and Sinatra met for the first time, in 1957, in that Miami Beach Nightclub, my dad, 23 then, worked at the nearby Saxony Hotel as a Bell Hop. Dad had heard the rumors about a private party for the legendary Sinatra that would include Sinatra's impressive who's who entourage. My dad showed up early hoping to catch a peek. The Nightclub owner liked my dad and let him stay. Sinatra and friends partied all night long!
