House intel chairman stepping aside from House Russia investigation

By Tom LoBianco and Manu Raju
Thu April 6, 2017

House intelligence chairman Devin Nunes announced Thursday he was temporarily stepping aside from leading the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 elections. Nunes cited a series of ethics complaints filed against him alleging that he violated terms of discussing classified material following his clandestine meeting at the White House just over two weeks ago.

Adios Nunes. Your partisanship at any price won't be missed.

Makes one wonder why a person with such integrity and with so many people behind him including the President would step down?

It is because of the outcry from the left who claim "Process" trumps facts. Fine. I trust Trey Gowdy. The left may wish they had kept their mouths shut. Now they can ask Nunes questions in open and well as in secret session! Do'h!

Remember Benghazi was the discovery point for Hillary's server.*

His obstruction bought them a couple weeks, maybe a month.

I think if you had found another source with 'Nunes" in the title, the news/string would be much more recognizable. One has to 'Headline shop' to do so sometimes.

IAC, the bumbling President's water boy is out, but I'm not sure he or other GOPers with any access at all, won't be leaking to the Prez.

Has absolutely nothing to do with right or left, except to partisan hacks. It has everything to do with his running to Trump and telling him all about information he obtained, while refusing to give that same information to the very same intelligence committee he chaired.

Good riddance to him.

Remember this was the same Ethics Office that Repubs in Congress tried to castrate as their 1st order of business.
Nunes screwed the pooch and some of the excrement from this stuck to him
As you can plainly see many Repubs in the House have significant issues with the Ethics Office.

Hi Janfu, nope. I guess I need to pay more attention.

Well it was just in the New Year
And not much you miss

1 thing from this, Ryan met with Nunes yesterday, Ryan was asked today if he requested Nunes to recuse himself. He neither confirmed nor denied. As I understand he just walked away from the reporter asking the question. Not sure of the circumstances of the scrum

I never thought I'd see the day the left embraced the intelligence services snooping on citizens and using that information to upend and presidency. That used to be the end all "BIG DEAL". Now they embrace it! LOL

Again, it's not the left, it's everyone who isn't being partisan about what is a fairly blatant issue. That includes a wide range of moderates, and Republicans/Conservatives.
Trying to make the story about "being snooped on", while 3 investigations are ongoing looking into Russia + Trump campaign, is so obvious it's painful. Have you no shame?

About time.

The President shouldn't know that the last administration spied on him?

Running to Trump (possibly an investigation target) shred any modicum of integrity that Nunes may have possessed.

The last administration did oversee the CIA/NSA/FBI, which always includes spying on foreign threats, because they were elected to do that.
That Trump and his crony's got caught up in that net, is their issue, not Obama's.

And not American citizens; certainly not an incoming administration for political reasons. NO administration is elected to abuse it's power in such a way.

What is the 'fairly blatant issue', in your opinion?

Let's say he absolutely is the target of an investigation: that doesn't that doesn't remove his right to know that he was spied upon (possibly illegally) by the outgoing administration.

The real partisans are the folks who insist that Rice had the authority to conduct and investigation on an American citizen and then release classified material to the media.

Besides, which facts can they point to that indicts Trump in the Russian scandal? That makes it blatant?
