The United Arab Emirates arranged a secret meeting in January between Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a Russian close to President Vladi*mir Putin as part of an apparent effort to establish a back-channel line of communication between Moscow and President-elect Donald Trump, according to U.S., European and Arab officials. The meeting took place around Jan. 11 — nine days before Trump’s inauguration — in the Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean, officials said. Though the full agenda remains unclear, the UAE agreed to broker the meeting in part to explore whether Russia could be persuaded to curtail its relationship with Iran, including in Syria, a Trump administration objective that would likely require major concessions to Moscow on U.S. sanctions.
Though Prince had no formal role with the Trump campaign or transition team, he presented himself as an unofficial envoy for Trump to high-ranking Emiratis involved in setting up his meeting with the Putin confidant, according to the officials, who did not identify the Russian

Yet, people like to continue to pretend that Eisenhower never talked about such a thing....

Waldo talked to Puff the magic dragon, Care bear spoke to the Smurfs, HeMan had a back channel conversation with Voltron,

Anything else? "of an apparent back channel"...... Show me proof of collusion or illegal acts.... until then... this is nothing but a "Witch Hunt" Seriously.... connecting dots without any criminal actions or illegal actions is just that... connecting dots.... nothing more...... FFS.... show me something F!@#$$%^^ ILLEGAL!!!!

Re: Blackwater founder held secret Seychelles meeting to establish Trump-Putin back c

Yeah, I'd say there is nothing to see here, except for Prince acting like an amateur diplomat. This is more embarrassing for Prince and Blackrock than for the Administration.

I mean, it's not like the US and Russia have cut relations. Trump and Putin can legally speak to one another. And is there anyone in DC that Kislyak doesn't already know? ;)

1) Calm down

2) Keep an eye on Manafort

3) This is not really a ding on the Trump administration, assuming they didn't authorize Prince to go cowboy. It's embarrassing for Prince and Blackrock, who are disturbingly wealthy.

We should be spending time how to bring the nation together not how to find every single possible chance to divide it... its sad.... just sad.....

Re: Blackwater founder held secret Seychelles meeting to establish Trump-Putin back c

Can someone that thinks they know, please tell us what is wrong with what the story said happened? That's the way business and international relations are conducted - contacts and personal relationships.

Here's a thought though... If Trump was already in cahoots with Putin, and they both conspired to rig the November 2016 election, then why was there a need for Erik Prince to try to set up a meeting with Putin for the Trump team or Trump himself in January of 2017?

There can't be coordination and collusion before the election AND backdoor attempts to get a meeting set up after the election. It doesn't track guys. Stop the autonomic "AHHA, WE HAVE HIM" and try thinking first.

It's not surprising to see Trump sending unqualified uber wealthy to attempt tasks regarding issues that Trump himself doesn't understand. DeVos probably recommended Prince to Trump. Seriously.

Trump believes that the business model approach to governing is the only way and in doing so Trump & Company are making a hot mess of everything. Trump is no business genius. He made many horrible business decisions and if not for the Russians bailing him out he'd be the night manager of a Motel 6 in Bayonne.

In the successful business world you don't send the unqualified and the inexperienced to do important things. Maybe that's why Trump filed for bankruptcy 5 times, that we know of. America can't afford to put that image forward on the world stage. We can ill afford a clueless president sending the wrong kind of people to do the People's business. But that is what Trump does again and again. The OP is yet another example.

Your previous post is the manner in which you believe the nation should conduct itself in an effort to work together?

Trump's book should have been titled: "The Art of Making the Steal". He is one of the most unscrupulous business men anywhere.

As you made note of the other day: "A private business model, for the most part, isn't as efficient or an effective way to run a government". The operative components of private business isn't working under the same demands of an entire nation...no matter how large a corporation might be. The problems "some" corporations deal with might be complex, but will never be as complex as all of the issues that nations experience, both domestically and foreign, which are simultaneously making demands. And Trump, Inc. is far from one of the largest corporations.

If Trump believes for a second that the powers over our government and within our government is going to let him have is way...is in for a big surprise. The corporations who hold substantial power over our government doesn't want government to be a private company. They use government to manipulate laws to their financial advantage. We the people are the laborers for those corporations that do their bidding in order to maintain revenues. We the people support the lifestyles in Washington, which is expensive, by the way...in order for members of our government to better serve the corporations who own the golden carrot stick (the revenue sustained by the laborers), which the corporations dangle to influence our Washington Royalty to do their bidding.

I think this is called a cluster ****... And we know who's getting ****ed.

Well said! Government and business aren't the same animals. They don't serve the same purpose. It's why there are master of business and master of public administration degrees. Yeah, sure there is some crossover but, most Fortune 500 companies would be the first to tell you that if you are applying for a position that requires an MBA your MPA isn't going to fill in all the right niches. The same in reverse for government in most cases.

You hit the nail on the head. Trump and his inner circle jerkers are not in Washington to make government work for the People.

Hell, RM, as you say, "We know who's getting ****ed."
