A federal judge in Louisville said in a ruling that then-candidate Donald Trump incited the use of violence against three protesters when he told supporters at a campaign rally a year ago to "get 'em out of here."

U. S. District Judge David J. Hale of the Western District of Kentucky also wrote in an opinion and order released Friday that because violence had broken out at a prior Trump rally and that known hate group members were in the Louisville crowd, Trump's ordering the removal of an African-American woman was "particularly reckless."

When a Republican appointed Kentucky judge says you have been reckless, then there is something to it. The lawsuit against Trump for inciting violence by known white nationalists against 3 black protesters will proceed, and those protesters will get their day in court.

Hmmm...

On June 19, 2014, President Obama nominated Hale to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky...He received his judicial commission on December 10, 2014.

Hale, a Democrat, was nominated by President Barack Obama...
U.S. Attorney David J. Hale confirmed as federal judge in the Western District of Kentucky

Surprise, surprise.

Another Democrat appointed Federal Judge has ruled against the President on some issue or another...will wonders never cease? :coffeepap:

I'm reminded of his rally where he says, "I'd like to punch him in the face!" and something like "In the good ol' days, they'd be carried out on stretchers!" It's apparently not that hard to whip extremists up into a frenzy such that they would act on suggestions like that, like zombies. Glad they didn't start killing babies after he said, "Get that baby outta here!"

People actually voted for someone as President of the U.S. who would say things like that. And don't forget the making fun of a disabled reporter, using speech and imitating his deformed arms. Trump is such a respectful, intelligent, reasonable, and dignified man. (not)

Re: Judge: Lawsuit against Trump, supporters can proceed

I think laws for inciting violence are stupid. There is no harm caused by telling someone to do something or suggesting that hey it might be cool if you do something. If idiots decide to be violent then frankly the blame for their violence is on them.

It's not hard to get mad at people protesting at your rallies after they have done it for months on end.

Trump haters are the #1 source of misinformation in this country. The claim danarhea makes that a far left liberal who was appointed by Obama is some sort of Hardcore Republican WOULD be absurd, but in actuality it's typical in this day and age. The haters are making all kinds of ridiculous claims.

That is a lie, to put it plainly. Almost all the fake stories being spread are far right stories. That is, in fact, one of the ways that Russia influenced the election. Testimony before Congress states that Trump even picked up at least two fake stories from Russian sites ("RT" and "Sputnik") and used them on the campaign trail. The "THIS ELECTION IS RIGGED!" meme he used shortly before the election is straight out of the Russian playbook. (And Trump's supporters just fell for that, hook line & sinker.)

If you have any fake news stories that are far left, please list them here (I'm sure there must be a couple, altho I don't recall any; I, too, will post a list of rightwing fake stories, altho it may take some time to dig them all up and list them):

I've seen it. The disabled person doesn't move his arms in the way Trump was doing. Trump has also used that same exact arm motion for a a long series of situations that don't even involve mockery. The fact is he wasn't mocking his disability, but mocking him for being an idiot.

Re: Judge: Lawsuit against Trump, supporters can proceed

Your logic doesn't acknowledge the power that people in leadership positions have. What a leader says is influential. That's WHY they deem themselves leaders, and why they have "followers." Note that Trump even said that even if he shot someone, his supporters would still support him. He knew they'd do anything he suggested they do.

The tone in a company is often set by the top officers. The tone of a country is set by the President or Dictator.

Yes, people who are extremists to begin with, can be whipped up into a frenzy so that they act out as the leader of the group suggests. Those people WILL be held accountable for their actions. And the leader should also be held accountable for his incitement to his followers to act violently.

This part of the law is used mainly for leaders of groups, but it can also be used for gang violence. In the case of the woman who was gang raped in a bar years ago (the movie "The Accused"), the guys standing around yelling and chanting for other guys to rape her, were ultimately criminally charged.

It is a crime in our country to incite others to violence. This doesn't let people off the hook for their own violent acts. But it also doesn't let off the hook others who goad others into violent acts.

That is the law.

You're wrong. Trump has mocked HUNDREDS of people the last couple of years. Please post here the link of him mocking someone else in that way (holding his arms close to his body, elbows bent, making his arms appear short, and flailing his hands and arms about, while simultaneously slurring his words as he pretends to be the person he's mocking):

That's been debunked already, for anyone who takes the time to see:

If your citation had been the first time Trump ever used that motion...but clearly it was not. Nor was it rare for him to do.

The same holds true for all but a couple of so-called "factual" allegations of Mr. Trump's "misconduct" during the campaign.

Hell, I've used that "spazzed out" arm and face motion when I was a teen and through my early adult years. Fairly common in use back then. :coffeepap:

So all those years when conservatives claimed Obama was "inciting" blacks to attack whites, or attack cops, was just stupid political nonsense being spouted by the right? Sweet!

JFC! No, no, no, no!

I see you didn't bother to look into the Judge background to make your false political claims. Doh!

I see you also didn't look into what the Judge actually said and just accepted what the article wrote even though you commented on it as if it was true. Doable doh!

1. The Judge did not say Trump incited the use of violence.
2. The Judge did not say Trump ordering the removal of any black person was "particularly reckless."

What the Judge did do in both those instances above is repeat the claim of the Plaintiffs. Duh!

That said.
1. The plaintiffs are only looking for a payout from deep pockets. Despicable individuals.
2. The only way this could win in actual trial is because folks do not like Trump.

As pointed out, that particular claim has already been debunked.

He did not mock the reporter for being disabled or his disability.

Yep, the opposing (respectful, intelligent and reasonable?) candidate never said that half of those supporting the opposition were deplorable. ;)

Re: Judge: Lawsuit against Trump, supporters can proceed

Then there are plenty of Trump supporters who should take action against George Soros and like individuals.

I don't see this holding up in court, but I'm no lawyer.

Trump's words were irresponsible, but if there was a lawsuit every time the man said something irresponsible our court system would be bogged down to a standstill.

Re: Judge: Lawsuit against Trump, supporters can proceed

Good grief, Trump , just man up for once in your life. He made fun of the reporter's disability. Instead of apologizing now we learn he and everyone here does this kind of movement all the time. Total BS from everyone.,

This is just like when Obama made the remark about his bowling being something like the Special Olympics. He screwed up and apologized and moved on.

Re: Judge: Lawsuit against Trump, supporters can proceed

Did danarhea, in his OP, intentionally misstate U.S. District Judge David Hale as a GOP appointee? Not likely

In the Big Picture of National Politics and Lawsuits involving Trump, where does this Lawsuit rank? Very low

Did Trump intend to mock a disabled reporter? Likely

The Lawsuit names Trump, Traditional Youth Network founder Matthew Heimbach and Korean War Vet Alvin Bamberger as Defendants.

Transgender College Student Henry (formerly Hannah) Brousseau, College Student Kashiya Nwanguama and Molly Shah filed the Lawsuit.

The posts in this thread line up predictably- it seems Captain Adverse, Henrin, reinoe, Hawkeye 10, Excon, Countryboy, ttwtt, and WCH support Trump

AND... JumpinJack, Puigb, tres borrochus, Crosscheck and the Trippy Trekker do not.

Conclusion - As yet today, the Microcosm known as DP motors along in Normal Mode.

So you would've ruled different about a white supremacist shoving and punching these women... Ya know, because Obama and stuff.

Matthew Heimbach, who was representing the white nationalist Traditionalist Workers Party, and Alvin Bamberger attacked the protesters, according to the ruling.

According to the federal ruling, Heimbach shoved Nwanguma before Bamberger struck her. Heimbach also shoved Shah, while an unknown attacker, believed to be with the Traditionalist Worker Party, punched 17-year-old Brousseau, a high school student, in the stomach, it says.
