President Trump says the United States is prepared to act alone against North Korea, if China doesn't help stop North Korea's nuclear program:

President Donald Trump says that the United States is prepared to act alone if China does not take a tougher stand against North Korea’s nuclear program.

Trump’s comments in an interview with the Financial Times come just days before he is set to host Chinese President Xi Jinping at his Mar-a-Lago estate in South Florida. The two are expected to discuss a number of issues, including North Korea, trade and territorial disputes in the South China Sea during their meeting on Thursday and Friday.

The US should be prepared to curbstomp North Korea, first evacuating much of Seoul if necessary. Doing this will make an example out of a leading pariah state whose activities threaten the world's safety.

This is why it's so important that adults are in charge of this sort of thing.

And you'd rather just let Kim hold a nuclear knife to America's throat. That's the worst idea.

China doesn't want to do anything, and Trump is sensibly pressuring them by telling them that if they don't act, then the US will. If the US doesn't adopt an action-oriented position, then China will just yawn and let lil Kim do whatever he pleases. At least a tougher posture from the US will put them on notice.

North Korea is a threat to no one but its own people. Either send in a well placed cruise missile to liberate those poor souls or push the global 'ignore' button on that Godforsaken nation.

Don't listen to Trump. He has no idea of what he speaks.

If you think it's all this simple, then you don't understand the situation, it's not nearly as straightforward as you suggest it is.

I don't like to toot my own horn about anything, but besides perhaps Donsutherland1, I am DP's foremost expert on North Korea so have at it.

And I have zero doubt that you are more knowledgable and more intellectually curious than our President.

Kim is a sabre rattler. We ought to ignore the fat little bastard. The only thing we should tell China is that they should pass on to Kim that if he takes even one overt offensive act towards the US or Korea he wont have to worry about paying for equipment and personnel at his military bases anymore. Beyond that...screw him. Hell...half his gear blows up wheeling it to the launch pad.

Ok, on such a bold statement I am game.

Give us your bona fides as regards NK. We already know you take everything the bomb says as being the gospel truth, no matter facts to the contrary... so give us the low down on what the US should do after first GHW Bush slightly, then Clinton massively, screwed the pooch royally...

So we continue doing nothing about this peril, kick the can down the road like the bomb did, hoping against hope, fingers crossed that the fat boy wouldn't do anything rash on his watch...and he lucked out.

Good time to employ an ostensibly nuclear Japan... that should wake China up to the dangers their little step child is brewing.

Where's the best place to get barbecue there?

Yep. Liberals have demanded that the U.S. bow and kowtow to North Koreas demands for decades.

I started writing but then I thought, what good would it really do to explain things to you?

You are as obtuse as they come, you're a birther, a Trump supporter and you honestly believe that the things I know about North Korea, all have to do with Obama, which couldn't be further from the truth considering one of the best and most informative books I read on the subject was written by Victor Cha, who was George W. Bush's top advisor for North Korea during his administration.

Explaining the situation to someone like you, would be like trying to explain astrophysics to an amoeba.

Jang Song-thaeks Pyongyang Korean BBQ restaurant, bring the WHOLE family (and we mean WHOLE).

Come for the taste, never leave for the executions.

Until there's a way to dispose of North Korea without leading to war with China, this is stupid.

Yep. Liberals have demanded that the U.S. bow and kowtow to North Koreas demands for decades.

Since you said Decades, you must mean DDE, RMN, RWR, GHWB and GWB.

The most dangerous kind of president is the one having domestic problems and looking to divert to a foreign war, especially the current chickenhawk .

Trump also said that he was ready to repeal and replace PPACA with a really great and affordable plan that would cover "everybody" - Trump often says things that are quite a bit short of what would I call true. ;)

I'm genuinely interested in your take on our best course of action.

Excellent! I'll try to remember that the next time I go there posing as a college student.

I knew you were shooting blanks, but just wanted to test the waters... thanks. But you almost had me right up until you started typing your reply.

This one, too, died at birther, eh? Btw, you mistakenly drafted an incorrect sentence... this would be the more correct manner, "Explaining the situation to someone like you, would be like an amoeba trying to explain astrophysics"...now there is a more accurate statement that I can wholeheartedly support.

I know you know that North Korea is in Asia, though, right?

Once again, many words used to say nothing at all.

If you're a birther, it means you don't live in reality and if you don't live in reality I can't very well explain a complex situation to you can I?

Just read what I respond to others and you may actually learn something.

Does anyone here think Trump would start a war just to boost his favorables?

Surely all the Liberals do...lol

If this goes anything like Trump's execution of healthcare reform it will end with Kim raising the North Korean flag at the White House.
