I wonder why he denies any connections with Russia nowadays but just a couple years ago was bragging about all the Russians who were buying his properties.

Trump's business network reached alleged Russian mobsters

To expand his real estate developments over the years, Donald Trump, his company, and partners repeatedly turned to wealthy Russians and oligarchs from former Soviet republics — several allegedly connected to organized crime, according to a USA TODAY review of court cases, government and legal documents and an interview with a former federal prosecutor.
(. . .)
2013, after Trump addressed potential investors in Moscow, he bragged to Real Estate Weekly about his access to Russia's rich and powerful. “I have a great relationship with many Russians, and almost all of the oligarchs were in the room,” Trump said, referring to Russians who made fortunes when former Soviet state enterprises were sold to private investors.

Five years earlier, Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. told Russian media while in Moscow that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets" in places like Dubai and Trump SoHo and elsewhere in New York.

Yep, I know some will add USA Today to their list of left wing media spewing forth "fake news"

A big New York businessman with some kind of connection to organized crime? Not exactly a surprising revelation. You can't swing a dead cat in that city without hitting a Mafia/Big Biz alliance.

But it can't be as bad as the Kennedys, who were up to their necks in mob ties, starting with Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. (father of JFK)

One thing's for sure, USA Today be done climbed aboard the Trump hysteria train.

I think it's great! I predicted the meltdown would be entertaining.

If it were possible to put the Trump hate aside for a bit of objective reasoning, I would think it would be very difficult to do any business in Russia without dealing with mobsters.

That doesn't mean any business person should just cross Russia off their business plans, it just means that is how things are done there.

How many people really think these 40 and 50 something oligarchs made all their money legitimately?

Even Tom Steyer, one of the billionaires who fund the Progressives attacks on President Trump, has had business ties with questionable Russian magnates.

Thanks for the linked USA Today article. Team Trump might somehow keep most of his gullible fan club way beyond the point of reason. The constant controversies, his lack of credibility and his ridiculous responses has to wear out his welcome with the GOP Leadership sooner or later. We who deem him an incompetent POTUS must soldier on and not let him off the hook until his karma overtakes him.

Doesn't he have connections to mobsters in the U.S. as well? And can you do business in Russia without dong business with Russian mobsters? Is that worse than say...the government being buddy buddy with one of the biggest human rights violators in the world, the Saudi royal family?

You're not wrong, but you fall far short of justifying his lies.
