You probably saw the debut of the 'Fearless Girl' statue in early March in New York City. The statue is of a young girl defiantly staring down the 'Charging Bull' and has been heralded by many as a symbol for women everywhere. Many are now calling for the statue to be made a permanent fixture on Wall Street, while it will at least stay past its original removal date in April and into 2018 as of now.But most people looking at this seemingly feel-good story missing something?

While I enjoyed this 'article' if you'll read it to the end you'll see that it's also an advertisement.

Maybe this shouldn't have been posted in 'mainstream media',but what's more mainstream than Wall Street?

I wondered who put that there.

Well spotted.

Well I enjoy the irony here.
A bull market is a good thing. Staring down a bull market would seem to be stupid or at least perverted, apparently hoping to "tame" or something the good bull market that generally benefits investors. And a young person is not allowed to invest-would need adult approval.

But the advertisers who placed it there got a better response than they could have hoped for, playing into ambitions of women.

Actually, the best investors - in my experience - make the most money on corrections...not bull markets. And the bigger the crash, the more profit to be had. Anyone can make money on a bull market, it's making it the rest of the time that is the challenge, imo.
You make the most profit when you are successfully doing what most others are not.

True. The best investors. But many investors like the bull market if only so that the lower than average investor will put in money to raise up the price of the best investor's stocks. Or they are in that group of "Anyone can make money on a bull market" and happy with those gains. There is a reason why bull markets are celebrated, even though knowing that one can succeed in any kind of market.

I loved the feel if the girl standing fearlessly in front of the raging bull. But I was torn. It implies a false truth. At present technology it is much more costly to control the bull than to let him find the right price, as far as we know. All you can do is hope the fences hold.

Some bulls are smart enough to look for a hole in the fence.

I that case, you do not want to be a fearless little girl standing in their way. ;)
