REPUBLICANS YANK OBAMACARE REPEAL BILL - POLITICO

Facing a growing rebellion within his own ranks, House Speaker Paul Ryan pulled the Republican Obamacare replacement plan from the House floor on Friday just before a scheduled vote.

The decision is a staggering defeat for Ryan and President Donald Trump in their first attempt to partner on major legislation and fulfill a seven-year Republican promise to repeal Obamacare. It comes a day after Trump issued an ultimatum to House Republicans to vote for the bill or live with Obamacare.

A leadership aide said that Trump and Ryan spoke by phone at 3 p.m. and that the president asked the speaker to pull the bill.

Well, this did not go as planned.

I thought Trump was the BEST negotiator. What happened?

Seven years to come up with a replacement and the GOP have both Congress and the White House and your first attempt fails. The worst part is that it is not very surprising to me.

Right? We were supposed to renegotiate all the deals to get the best deals with the great negotiating of the deals.... thinking things can go awry is the sort of thing that one of those cucks who think that policy is, like, complicated, and stuff, would believe. Policy isn't complicated, you just gotta, you know, like, do the good stuff, but not the bad stuff, and, like, you know, negotiate better for the deals......

God DAMN is the rank cowardice and incompetence almost palpable.

Hey, GOP: you control ALL branches off gov't and you STILL can't steer the flaming clown car into the garage. If you're so grounded in principle, put the damned thing up for a vote and be done with it. IOW, live out your convictions and their consequences.

Just pathetic, you asshats.

Our system really is run by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels from Dumb and Dumber.

I just thought it was the dumb and dumber party.

Democrats were able to pass the affordable care act because, despite its unpopularity, the democrats believed that the bill was worth passing.

By contrast the republicans are afraid to act

As long as I am part of the Evil party and not the Stupid party, I am happy.

Truth is, as cpwill basically said in another thread, the majority of the GOP'ers that are against the bill that was pulled today are against it because they don't think it goes far enough and that it was basically Obamacare lite, not because they are afraid to act. That would be the "Freedom Caucus" folks.

Yeah, plenty of conservatives did not like this bill. And that's why this was't going to pass.

Had it actually been popular with the GOP, it probably might have.

You'll have to re-register as a Republican, then.

The party with Trump at the head? That would be the party of Stupid. We got Clinton, the definition of evil.
