Unfortunately though when dealing with the right it's always a lose-lose situation for the people. On one hand this is good for the people in that Obamacare has survived another day without being neutered. However it only means that Trumpcare is being further engineered to be even more painful to placate the FreeDumb Caucus (people haters). The more painful version will help the Dems in 2018 and 2020 but the people will suffer more until then. Hence lose-lose. Unless you're wealthy, then it's almost impossible to lose, more of "I got almost everything I wanted but those damn Democrats...".

Over the past 8 years the Republicans proposed alternatives to Democrat bills. They proposed amendments to bills. They proposed their own bills.

The absolute pinnacle of Democrat assholery in the last 8 years was the "sit in" over the terror watch list gun bills. The Republicans proposed two bills that mirrored the Democrat bill with the sole exception of providing for Constitutionally mandated due process but not only did the Democrats scream bloody murder before the vote they had a sit in temper tantrum that should have embarrassed a two year old after the vote. What we had for the last 8 years was Democrats in congress who regularly chose the "my way or the highway" approach to everything. That approach (I can't believe I'm going to say this) was actually BETTER than what they are doing now which is spewing innuendo, casting aspersion and rejecting even the possibility of discussion on proposed legislation and nominations.

On the contrary. With single payer nobody would ever have to worry about health insurance again. There government would pay the health care costs for everyone. The only issue you'd have is if you wanted a particular test or procedure and the government said "No" you wouldn't have any other options.
