Palm Beach Is Sick of Paying for Donald Trump’s Weekend Visits to Mar-a-Lago

As Trump said this in 2011, I believe Trump needs to do some soul searching, or is it one rule for him, and another for the rest of us.

If he heads back to NYC to be with his family, NYC complains about the cost. If he heads to Mar-a-Lago with his family, those in Palm Beach complain about the cost.

I just read the other day that the White House is preparing for the First Lady and Barron to move in in June as soon as Barron is out of school. It could 'be that there's a lot of "stuff" like painting, carpet, furniture, drapes, lighting, plumbing etc. happening in the family living quarters of the WH that can only be tended to on weekends. Just a thought.

This news is not coming out at the best time. His proposed budget cuts will be impacting the poor, but he is fine with taking pricy vacations on taxpayer's dime.

It's not just an ignorance of other people's positions. It's an ignorance of math. Income tax policies are, at their core, mathematical functions. If you make X dollars per year, and you pay Y on your mortgage, Z on medical bills, etc., then you pay T income taxes.

Too many conservatives deliberately and intentionally choose not to take the time to listen to our positions on these matters. And forget about all the deductions per se; they won't even listen to our position on one part of the tax code, and that is who should be taxed and by how much.

I don't expect to see any positive coverage from the MSM on the prez or his family. But I do think the frequent trips to Mar-a-Lago have to do with the family living quarters getting a makeover.

Obama's had the entire place made over so it would feel like home to them. I imagine every first family feels that way.

The Trump family has its own special situation because Melania did not want to take Barron out of school in the middle of the year. I think the frequent trips to Mar-a-Lago will slow down as soon as they have a place to call home in the White House and they are all under one roof.

Economics is an extremely nuanced science. A blanket statement that "Lowering taxes increases revenue" is not correct because we can find instances in history that disprove that. When Reagan cut taxes in '81, revenue fell sharply off and it didn't pick back up until the Clinton tax increase in 1993.

Revenue has largely to do with how the economy is functioning as a whole but, higher taxes can produce more revenue. Any increase in consumer spending and job creation during a period of low taxes is offset by missed revenue on high income earners.

I haven't heard one way or the other, but do you know if Trump is using AF1 or his own jet to travel back and forth to Florida? The reason I'm wondering about this is because I haven't seen any snide disparaging comments yet regarding the fuel cost if he's using AF1.
