Fortunately, the University of Arizona has an answer. It recently distributed a 20-page booklet suggesting to faculty that when a student is victimized by a microaggression the appropriate response should be saying “ouch.” And the correct response for the offender should be saying “oops,” according to the guide.

“If a student feels hurt or offended by another student’s comment, the hurt student can say ‘ouch.’ In acknowledgement, the student who made the hurtful comment says “oops.” If necessary, there can be further dialogue about this exchange.”

Good gosh, we're producing the biggest pantywaists on the planet. These will be the weakest among us and the first to die when the next calamity breaks.

On the flip side, at least they're absolutely no threat to outperform or out-earn my kids. LOL

So you are complaining about someone saying ouch when they get hurt by someone else? Really? Who's the snowflake here?

Is a quote from a booklet at a university, and fantastically disproportionate hyperbole about the end of times, really breaking news?

Is the breaking news that some people will throw a hissy fit (is that PC?) over practically anything?

The SCROTUS is a special snowflake the size of the Trump Tower. He and his followers have no standing to accuse others of this sort of thing.

Not sure if I'm supposed to say "ouch" or "oops."

Guess I need one of those brochures. Can I borrow yours?

I don't go to the University of Arizona. You might want to ask your mom, maybe she can help.

What should they say in a classroom if they are offended or hurt by another student's comments? **** you, you stupid asshole?

No idea why someone in the faculty producing a document with suggested actions is breaking news, or is supposed to be offensive.

Ouch.

Oops first followed by ouch.

Re: Snowflake Watch: Safe words for safe spaces

Oops first followed by ouch.

If the first person doesn't say "ouch" first then the second person doesn't know the first person was offended so then he need to say "oops".

It can't be the other way around.

I think it should be 3 oops then an ouch. Oops for: pantywaist (I presume a female pejorative, certainly archaic), the chicken little-ing and the personal crap to push an argument. All three of those things are offensive in general. Then an ouch for being called a snowflake.

Extreme pc bs.

Really deep. Only a university could come up with it.

Moderator's Warning:
1st: The rules decide what is and isn't breaking news. Not any of you. If you feel that something doesn't fit the rules then don't comment on it, report it. Otherwise you may end up getting a b/f/t infraction. 2nd: There are too many personal comments in the thread. Stick to the topic and don't comment on or towards other posters in even a slight way.

Re: Snowflake Watch: Safe words for safe spaces

Education is too expensive already. Every minute we spend of discussions outside of what a student is paying for in classes, is a minute lost of the paid for curriculum.

I hope the University of Arizona gives partial reimbursements to the students.
