US makes formal apology to Britain after White House accuses GCHQ of wiretapping Trum

Re: US makes formal apology to Britain after White House accuses GCHQ of wiretapping

I never thought I'd say this about a sitting Pres again, and I hope I'm not subconsciously playing politics, but this man needs to be removed from office for everyone's safety.

And how would that come about, I wonder? Do you really imagine that a Congress which is firmly under Republican control is about to impeach a Republican President? You must think the Democratic Party is much more powerful than it is these days.

Re: US makes formal apology to Britain after White House accuses GCHQ of wiretapping

OY very.
You have already been corrected on this and yet you continue to spew the bs.

There is no actual evidence of any apology, let a lone a formal apology.

Reporting that anonymous sources said something, is not evidence.

You spouted some words, got angry under the collar but in no way answered or corrected me.

Wrong as usual.
You were corrected, refused to heed what you were told and got caught making the same bs claim.

Wrong as usual and purposely spewing untruths. Figures.

You were corrected multiple times.

Meanwhile, your govt has apologised to ours and the rest of the world knows it.
iLOL
Meanwhile nothing.

A source(s) say we apologized? iLOL
Do you really not get that? Unidentified sources. Duh! The same thing that was revealed by Napolitano. According to sources.

Since you didn't get it the first time.
Again.
Seems the real problem here are the leaks/anonymous sources.

And according to the other topic's information on this, there was no apology.

JUST IN: WH suggests Spicer/McMaster did NOT apologize to UK. They “explained that Mr. Spicer was simply pointing to public reports.”

There has been a formal apology - now, you have your underpants in a twist because you think I said "Trump apologises."
Holy ****! What an absurd post.
Where is this formal apology? Huh?
At the time that this argument took place there was none, only a claim by anonymous sources and a report showing that the White House made no such apology.

What the **** did you not understand about what you were previously told?
Huh?

From your own article.

Intelligence sources told The Telegraph that both Mr Spicer and General McMaster, the US National Security Adviser, have apologised over the claims. "The apology came direct from them," a source said.

General McMaster contacted Sir Mark Lyall Grant, the Prime Minister's National Security adviser, to apologise for the comments. Mr Spicer conveyed his apology through Sir Kim Darroch, Britain's US ambassador.

Clearly you do not understand what the article you provided reported.
You should really pay closer attention because you just wasted a lot of time making false assertions.

Holy ****. Hilarious bs.

So you actually have none and reduce yourself to telling untruths. Figures.

Unless you have something new, the facts were provided to you. Avail yourself of them and acknowledge that you were wrong.

You spouted some more words, got angry under the collar but in no way answered or corrected me.

For all the bluster and hostility, American officials apologised for the claims made by your leader. That is also acting on behalf of your administration unless they did this in their own time and not on public payroll.

Now, please bluster away, I'm not bothering to reply again as you cannot get beyond that simple fact.

I really wish you would pay attention.
There was no apology, let alone a formal apology.
You can not show otherwise.

Reports saying something amounted to an apology, is not an apology, let alone a formal apology.
Those reports based on anonymous sources are not credible when faced with sourced reports (from the horses mouth) that there was no apology.

The follow came after the false claims of an apology.

White House: No apology to British government over spying claims

Trump Offers No Apology for Claim on British Spying

Spicer denies apology to British government for wiretap claim

Obviously you take anonymous sources as word on anything to be true.

Not a very learned position to take, especially when they made it clear no apology was given. Doh!

The Brits insist that US government officials appointed by Trump did indeed apologize and assure Britain that such nonsense will not happen again ...

Intelligence sources had earlier told The Telegraph that both Mr Spicer and General McMaster, the US National Security Adviser, have apologised over the claims. "The apology came direct from them," a source said. General McMaster contacted Sir Mark Lyall Grant, the Prime Minister's National Security Adviser, to apologise for the comments. Donald Trump fuels diplomatic row with Britain after apology from US officials over GCHQ wiretapping claims

Trump then said this at a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel...

"We said nothing. All we did was quote a certain very talented legal mind who was the one responsible for saying that on television. You shouldn't be talking to me, you should be talking to Fox."

Trump here is asking people to gloss over the fact that his own PressSec (Sean Spicer) repeated conspiracy theory/fake news promulgated by FOX News commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano who has since been pulled from television appearances. FOX News tried to distance itself from Napolitano by stating: "FOX News cannot confirm Judge Napolitano's commentary. FOX News knows of no evidence of any kind that the now-president of the United States was surveilled at any time, any way. Full stop."

At the Congressional hearing on Monday, Adm. Micheal S. Rogers, the Director of the National Security Agency, said there was "No evidence the British had been asked to intercept conversations as Mr. Napolitano had asserted."

There's a difference between stating what's desired, and stating that which is possible.

But now that you mention it, I believe any impeachment would rest upon Trump's popularity within the GOP rank & file. As long as he's popular, he's good. But if the GOP rank & file turn against him, I could see enough GOP Congress critters siding with the Dems to install Pence who was their preferred choice. Do I think it's likely? Probably not.

The only reason Nixon was impeached was due to a Democratic Congress. (and perhaps also due to a slightly less "party above all else" mentality within Congress & the body politic)

Pay attention to what is highlighted in what you provided.

Unnamed/anonymous sources, versus the following which came after the claim.

Well it's a he said/she said situation. When it comes to which party is lying, 'alternate truth' is Trumps middle name.

Trump is alienating new nations every week. It looks like Trump will keep on insulting nations until the only un-insulted nation left is Putin's Russia.

Never argue with an unquestioning acolyte, you'll be here in 5 pages time and he'll still be saying the same thing. His only proof is his word and he'll offer nothing but hostility as his backup.

I just ignore the guy, I advise the same to you.

Of course you would recommend that as you are wrong.

Irrelevant comment.
You haven't shown there was an apology, while I have provided evidence that there isn't.

So again.
Of course you would recommend that as you are wrong.
So your use of these two emoticons :laughat: :monkeyarm clearly only apply to you and your dance of deflection.

And all of this because you can't admit you were wrong. Doh!

Re: US makes formal apology to Britain after White House accuses GCHQ of wiretapping

Oh dear!

Maybe we should ask for our statue of Winston Churchill back?

The entire White House accused Britain?
