Winners and losers in Trump's budget blueprint

He benefits from so many things that makes his life cushy, and he's too myopic to see it. I'd love to see him transported to a 3rd century jungle somewhere and watch him flourish as he does everything for only himself.

Just because I benefit from something doesn't make it justified. You guys might want to try a different angle.

Heh. Still benefiting from first world communication and technology, too... that someone else put together, and is aided with tax dollars*.

*- There's a lot of infrastructure that cities and states build that helps things like phone and fiber optics, etc., that is taxpayer funded, like it or not. Some is paid for by the utilities, but not all.

So exactly what am I supposed to do to avoid some kind of benefit provided at least in part by government? You might not have realized this but your beloved government is involved in everything.

You're choosing the easy way out... whine and do nothing. You could separate yourself almost entirely, but that would require actual dedication and effort, and it seems you're not up to it. Some people do do it, but very few.

That doesn't sound like an answer to me. Try answering my question this time. What am I supposed to do to avoid government benefit?

Oh and btw, I can't go into the woods to live either since the government is involved in matters involving the woods.

Go in far enough and you can do it, regardless what the government likes. And since when are you so interested in suddenly abiding by what the government wants?

If anything, that's classic do-nothing whining. There is an answer, you just don't like it. The first-world life that the government has helped provide for you is more important to you than you want to admit.

It's not a matter of what I want to abide, but where I can go to avoid some kind of influence by the government. You're kidding yourself if you think there is a such thing as deep enough in the woods to avoid the government influence.

And why should I be required to help others?
You're a member of a civilized society. You should feel proud that you're kicking in a few cents a paycheck to help feed a hungry child and the elderly that need help. Round of applause to you for your contribution.

Ted Kaczynski did a pretty good job going off the grid. He managed to go deep enough in the woods to avoid government, He lived in a shack on a dollar a day. If he could do it so can you. I have faith in your possibilities. Never sell yourself short.

If I give to others voluntarily might be something to hang my hat on, but giving to others involuntarily is nothing to be proud of.

Part of your paycheck is going to build tanks, manufacture nukes and fly around and feed the commander-in-chief at his fancy resort. Be happy you're kicking in a few cents a check to help feed those who can't feed themselves.

There are too many deadbeats sucking off the system to feel proud about

If it were only the truely deserving to deal with private charity could handle it without government help

Our elected officials living high off the hog on our money? I agree.

Hey, you want to sleep by the fire tonight and have safety in numbers, kick in some of what you hunted or gathered. Otherwise, off you go...

Numbers have a tendency to increase risk to a person.

You should get off the grid and write a manifesto.

Collectivists always fail to rationalize their desire to force things on others in the end. They might be able to sell their ideas to another collectivist, but when asked on what grounds their force has merit they always fall flat on their face.

You seem to have no issues with your tax money going to the war machine and supporting our elected officials lavish lifestyles. You just don't want your tax money being used to feed the poor and help the disenfranchised. Get over it.

You realize that I'm against the state existing, right?

As a conservative I don't believe in a lot of federal charity.

Like corporate subsidies, and however our tax structure might favor some people for than other?
