Wow. That's awkward.

White House analysis of Obamacare repeal sees even deeper insurance losses than CBO
The White House's own internal analysis of the GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare show even steeper coverage losses than the projections by the Congressional Budget Office, according to a document viewed by POLITICO on Monday.

The executive branch analysis forecast that 26 million people would lose coverage over the next decade, versus the 24 million CBO estimate — a finding that undermines White House efforts to discredit the forecasts from the nonpartisan CBO.

The analysis found that under the American Health Care Act the coverage losses would include 17 million for Medicaid, six million in the individual market and three million in employer-based plans.

A total of 54 million individuals would be uninsured in 2026 under the GOP plan, according to the White House analysis. That’s nearly double the number projected under current law.

Perhaps when he said the CBO's estimates of 24 million losing coverage are "not believable" Tom Price meant they're underestimating how bad it will be?

Was it written in Crayon by an "aspiring journalist" or was it written on toilet paper before it got flushed? Man, it's impossible the parody the news. "Journalists" just make it impossible. No matter how badly or how much it's portrayed as a caricature, somewhere out there there are journalists doing that very thing.

The implication is that there is somebody in the white house competent enough to make an accurate long term projection of a highly complicated policy. Who would that even be?

It would be interesting to understand, which piece of research could be more correct. To be honest, I have never worked my way through a White House research paper, but have done so for CBO papers, where there were aspects missing or debatably political motives behind assumption on occasion. So it would be interesting how a difference of twenty millions comes about.

Trump is CEO of huge chunk of our government, who are at his disposal, and he has money to spend if he wants to have someone else do it.

I like this Trump having slightly worse numbers, makes it look like he is trying to be honest.

Makes it look like he's trying to be honest. Excellent word choices.

Thanks, my interest in word crafting is really pretty shocking as till these last years I had never written very much, and generally did not enjoy it. I have always been interested in language though, and have at times been a huge reader.

Ya I know what you meant, and that is fine, we dont have to agree on everything from my end.

Re: White House analysis of Obamacare repeal sees even deeper insurance losses than C

Well that's two scores that are pretty damn close, and seems to show someone inside the Trump administration can get it right if they want to.

If the country (People) lets the GOP pass this huge disaster, I'll really lose my faith in my fellow Americans.

It's gonna be very bad. We'll be seeing a significant uptick in personal bankruptcies due to medical bills.

Re: White House analysis of Obamacare repeal sees even deeper insurance losses than C

“This is not an analysis of the bill in any way whatsoever,” White House Communications Director Michael Dubke told POLITICO. “This is OMB trying to project what CBO’s score will be using CBO’s methodology.”

Except for the fact that the OMB is probably better at forecasting what the CBO is going to do than anyone else around, this is much ado about nothing.

Don't worry — making it harder to declare bankruptcy over medical bills is in phase 3. lol
