McCain calls on Trump to Retract or Substantiate Statement

The Russia ties are still being investigated. There's much more to come.

So should the wiretapping accusation. Why can't you wait for that to be investigated?

i have no problem of letting the readers of the forum determine who deals in dishonesty.

let the chips fall where they may.

I know who deals in dishonesty. Donald Trump and all of the forum members who are justifying and defending his lies.

Because Mc Cain knows or suspects that Obama's eight years of office produced a lot of wiretaps, and it's going to point right back to his anti-Trump buddies.

Dennis Kucinich was wire tapped and a reporter played his conversation back to him two years after he left office:

Kucinich: I Was Wiretapped As A Congressman, They Can Certainly Tap A Presidential Candidate | Video | RealClearPolitics

So Mc Cain can crawl back in that hole he crawled out of. He's butt hurt for being kicked to the curb by Trump.

John McCain is doing what a lot if not most of Americans want, which is getting the current President to be honest and defend his own claims that his predecessor committed a crime. Barack Obama worked for us. Donald Trump works for us. We have a right to know the truth. Because you and the other Trump supporters have no desire for Trump's lie to be exposed is irrelevant. Dennis Kucinich also has zero to do with this situation.

Once again, John McCain seems upset with Trump. And again, he seems to be implying that Trump's conduct is not Presidential. It's good, that somebody from his own Party is calling Trump out on these ridiculous tweets.

McCain calls on Trump to clarify wire-tapping claim - MarketWatch

Sen. John McCain said Sunday that President Donald Trump should either retract or substantiate his claim that he was wiretapped by President Barack Obama during the final weeks of the presidential campaign.

Looks like McCain is trying once again to run for president... 2020.

Don't anyone think that McCain is doing anything noble. He knows that the likely methodology for the knowledge if true is classified, and cannot arbitrarily be revealed.

Politics as usual.

Well, someone with qualifications is going to have to run on the GOP ticket... and so far Trump is the only one who's tossed his hat in the ring.
McCain would only be filling a vacuum at the top by running again.

I will likely vote for a democrat before McCain.

I agree 100% with that (bolded above). If you think Trump was lying then why would it "clear" the Obama administration (spy?) officials to have a "known liar" retract a claim? We all now know that a transcript existed and its content was illegally leaked - that fact does not depend on any Trump claim or assertion.

One has to wonder what the source of the leaked (phone tap?) transcript was - it is not a good sign that the US spy/justice agencies are not telling the "investigating" congress critters that critical piece of information. That makes me suspect that it (the tap) was either done by the US, skipping getting that pesky warrant, or borrowed (shared or traded?) from a source outside the US - either of which should have been known by the Obama administration officials involved.

I'm sorry, but I have absolutely no idea what the second sentence and third sentence mean.

This wasn't about a leaked phone tap. This was about Donald Trump's Tweets accusing his predecessor of committing a crime. He made the charge. Now he needs to provide the evidence.

If Obama had done this to Bush, we would have seen a GOP controlled Congress start impeachment proceedings under Chaffetz, Issa and Nunes .

The Don gets a free pass for libelous accusations, the party of integrity, nyet.

This has everything to do with Kuchinich.

He was actually wire tapped, and the tapes of his conversation were played back to him by a reporter two years after he retired. The DNI (Director of National Intelligence) agency who tapped was trying to use his new insight to stragetise against a resolution regarding Lybia the Obama Admin didn't like:

Dennis Kucinich on Trump's wiretap charge: 'It happened to me' | TheHill

Unless he is lying, here is the smoking gun, still hot.

"If a member of congress can have his phone tapped, it can happen to anyone"

Unless Kucinich has evidence that Obama tapped Trump's phones, it has nothing to do with him. Keep up.

McCain belongs to the Lindsay Graham clutch of Republicans in the permanent political class in Washington. He has opposed the President from Day #1 and I believe is still trying to undermine him now.

Isn't it interesting though. McCain was the GOP darling of the left and the media UNTIL he ran against President Obama during which time he was described as little better than uneducated, inarticulate, incompetent, and unacceptable pond scum.

But now that he is opposing President Trump, he is WONDERFUL and held up as a shining example of all the GOP should be.

It's enough to make a body scream.

i dont know what has taken over you, but you used to not be this way.

its hard for me to believe that used you to be a moderate and easy going person here and how because of trump that person no longer exist.

to allow the election of a president to office change a person inside is tragic

No, that was Palin.

Actually what it shows is that you still love that same old fallacy.

well actually i am not showing you anything about myself and what i believe

because if i was doing that i would be talking about mixed government, federalism , the separation of powers., which the center point of my arguments.

Your belief in the fallacy is what reveals you.

I never stopped being a moderate. What I'm not is a brain dead Trump sycophant. Just because he convinced a lot of the easily duped that he was a "Republican" doesn't mean I was suckered. I also have no use for pathological liars, which he is.

Nothing has changed. I called out Obama when he lied too, and criticized him when he did stupid things. I also did the same thing to W Bush, who I happened to vote for - twice.

Your post is actually a sad reflection on how bad this has gotten. If you don't worship, attempt to defend, and blindly support Trump, you're no longer a moderate.

oh, look at you attacking people in your first sentence, i don't ever recall you acting like this before trump, yet after that i have seen you change and exchange in horrible language with people, in other places of the forum.

you have allowed politics to change you and thats a sad thing that you will not engage civil communication with me, which we used to do

i bid you peace and good will:)

Ah, so, if you don't adore Donald Trump, if you call him out on his lies, and if you point out that his supporters are completely dishonest for giving him a pass on his lies, you're not a moderate. Of course.

The victimhood that you guys bring here every day would be comical if it wasn't so pathetic.

my friend your dishonestly over the very arguments you have made since the election speak for themselves over and over.

What dishonesty? Cite it with evidence.
