President Trump incorrectly claimed Tuesday that 122 Guantanamo Bay detainees who were released under the Obama administration have returned to the battlefield. A bulk of those detainees that returned to the battlefield, however, were released under the Bush administration, before the U.S. set up an interagency screening and hearing process for each prisoner. The report says that of the 532 detainees released from the detention facility under Bush, 113 returned to the battlefield, or about 21 percent.

Under Obama, 161 detainees were transferred from Guantanamo Bay and only 9 have been confirmed to have reengaged and returned to the battlefield. That’s just under 6 percent of the total transferred since 2009.

Trump posted the tweet 31 minutes after Fox News tweeted about a U.S. airstrike that killed a former detainee in Yemen.
“Former Gitmo detainee killed by a U.S. airstrike in Yemen; at least 122 former Gitmo detainees have re-engaged in terrorism” the “Fox & Friends” account tweeted just after 6:30 a.m.

They talked about this last night on Fox News. I think it was on "The First 100 Days" but Martha wasn't hosting, so I can't recall. Anyway, you could see the woman was writhing in pain that she had to point this fact out. The buffoon tripped himself up....again. Again. Just how many unforced errors does this man have to make before someone who is a lot smarter than he is (which is probably everyone in the White House and the entire populations of the states west of the Mississippi) takes away his damn smart phone and makes him shut down his Twitter account?

His behavior is disgraceful.

The words "Trump" and "incorrectly" go so well together as they are often seen together, that it should just be accepted as a single hyphenated word: "Trump-incorrectly"

I think we are looking at different things. 122 was the exact number released in that timeframe.

The who was totally wrong. The what was exactly right. We have come full circle. Its Bushes fault!

It's time to get real and call a spade a shovel for **** sakes.

"Trump said" becomes "Trump lied..." and let' quit pretending he isn't a thin-skinned meat heat head. Suggest this guy might have erred and he tweets that you're the enemy of the people, get caught playing with Russians, suddenly decides he's been wire taped. A raid goes wrong and he diverts attention to Obama rather than condolences to the family, HIS reputation is more important.

Obama was a crummy president. I never thought I would see any president make him look so good.
