Playing Hillary while Governor. 'Unprotected text.'
Not as serious as Hillary's offense IMO, but still very careless.
He also failed to turnover those emails as required by State Law.
The new Governor didn't release some of the recovered ones for security reasons.

INDIANAPOLIS — Vice President Mike Pence routinely used a private email account to conduct public business as governor of Indiana, at times discussing sensitive matters and homeland security issues.

Emails released to The Indianapolis Star in response to a public records request show Pence communicated via his personal AOL account with top advisers on topics ranging from Security gates at the governor’s residence to the state’s response to Terror attacks across the globe. In one email, Pence’s top state homeland security adviser relayed an update from the FBI regarding the arrests of several men on federal terror-related charges.

WOW.

Pathetic justifications for this arriving in 3...2...1...

Now look, we all know that what Hillary did was wrong. She should have used official e-mail to take out the contract with ISIS to kill the ambassador in Benghazi.

LoCK HIM UP!
LoCK HIM UP!
LoCK HIM UP!
LoCK HIM UP!

Why would you lock him up, it's not against the law in Indiana?

You're right. I constantly forget how the bar for legal and ethical standards for R's are much much lower.

Yet they have rights.

You're missing the point.
It's not illegal in Indiana for government officials (or at least the governor) to have a private email account.
I think for one significant reason, is that they don't really deal with classified information involving global intelligence and military matters.

Pence used personal email for state business — and was hacked

Well well well...

INDIANAPOLIS — Vice President Mike Pence routinely used a private email account to conduct public business as governor of Indiana, at times discussing sensitive matters and homeland security issues.

Emails released to The Indianapolis Star, part of the USA TODAY Network, in response to a public records request show Pence communicated via his personal AOL account with top advisers on topics ranging from security gates at the governor’s residence to the state’s response to terror attacks across the globe. In one email, Pence’s top state homeland security adviser relayed an update from the FBI regarding the arrests of several men on federal terror-related charges.

Cybersecurity experts say the emails raise concerns about whether such sensitive information was adequately protected from hackers, given that personal accounts like Pence's are typically less secure than government email accounts. In fact, Pence's personal account was hacked last summer.

Pence used personal email for state business ? and was hacked

And what else did Pence have to say on the matter of personal email servers?

The news that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into new information about Hillary Clinton’s private email server, just days before Election Day, became the latest bombshell in a roller-coaster of a 2016 presidential race.

Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence talked about the news Sunday in an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation,” saying it’s great news that the agency has opted to continue its investigation after its “troubling” decision this summer not to pursue charges against Clinton.

“That original decision was really incomprehensible,” he said. “To arrive at a place where even in his testimony before the Congress, and in that long press conference that he gave … that literally Hillary Clinton had classified information on a private server that she said she didn’t have … that, to me, is the kind of double standard that the American people are weary of.”

Yes, Vice President Pence, please tell us more about these "double standards."

Re: Pence used personal email for state business — and was hacked

At least he didn't try to "accidently" delete the evidence.

Is that the moral superiority angle you're going with?

Re: Pence used personal email for state business — and was hacked

There is not much for Pence to say: The FBI was not investigating Mrs.Clinton for bad judgement in running usa foreign policy via a server stored in guys bathroom. They were investigating her for violating the law. Meanwhile, its apparently not illegal in Indiana for public officials to conduct business via personal email account.

Yeah.

When he obstructs justice by attempting to get rid of the emails, let me know. Until then, this is not even close to the problem with Hillary.

So until she was deleting emails, you didn't care?

Yep. It's not illegal in Oklahoma either.

Standards. Its not just for left anymore... oh wait.. yeah it is. My bad.

Using a personal account (or in HRC's case, a server) was against the law in the State Department. It's not against the law in Indiana.

If she did something illegal nail her ass to the wall.
I'm not against that.

Do I believe that these private email accounts are used to get around FOIA requests, yea, that's generally why a lot of them use it.
It's scummy and wrong, but with that said, unless we know what's in it and if it's not illegal.
Well, there isn't a whole lot you can do.

Re: Pence used personal email for state business — and was hacked

Pence's issue is she had classified information on her server, while Pence himself had highly sensitive information on his. And he was hacked. But Pence is totally kosher, huh?

Looks like pretty damn sensitive information to me.

Already, in this thread and my duplicate thread, Trump supporters are suddenly discovering a distinct nuance for the Clinton email server issue they didn't formerly hold.

They had her dead to rights on both the legality of it and the intent.
Whether or not you or I like it, it's not illegal in Indiana.

How would a state respond to terrorist attacks around the globe, that sounds "off."

Re: Pence used personal email for state business — and was hacked

Based on what I read, this isn't the same as what Hillary clinton did.

a) Pence using a webmail account was allowed under Indiana law, while Hillary's actions violated White house and State Department directives.

b) Hillary 100% controlled access to her archived emails and deleted over 30,000 of them, while Pence did not have access to his archived emails and couldn't have deleted them.

c) Hillary sent and received more than 100 classified emails (violating federal law) and Pence did not.

d) Pence didn't try to conceal his use of webmail from Indiana state officials, while Hillary deliberately kept her use of a home email server secret from State Department officials and anyone else in the government who might force her to stop using it and comply with federal laws and guidelines.

I'll admit it seems a bit hypocritical, but comparing it to what Hillary Clinton did is totally ridiculous.

Isn't this always the saving grace.

How many here actually think these two seniors , Pence and Clinton , are really that computer savy? These two politicians are of that same group of bungling goofs that forget they have a live mic on them.

Somehow there is this myth that this level of politicians are intellectually superior to the common Americans. Beginning to learn that they both know the key talking points to use for their sides but I wouldn't trust either to change my engine oil.
