On Thursday, it was announced that President Barack Obama will, on May 7th in Boston, make one of his first public appearances since leaving office. On that day, the 44th President of the United States will be receiving the Centennial John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, celebrating what would have been Kennedy’s 100th birthday, which falls on May 29th. The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library presents the annual award, named after Kennedy’s 1961 memoir.

The award is, in the words of the press release, “presented annually to public servants who have made courageous decisions of conscience without regard for the personal or professional consequences.”

“President Obama has embodied the definition of courage that my grandfather cites in the opening lines of ‘Profiles in Courage’: grace under pressure,” Jack Schlossberg, Kennedy’s grandson, said in a statement as part of the museum’s press release. “Throughout his two terms in office, he represented all Americans with decency, integrity, and an unshakeable commitment to the greater good.” According to BuzzFeed News, while past honorees got the award for a single decision of some kind, Obama’s entire presidency is being honored.

“It’s been more than half a century since John F. Kennedy asked us to cast aside our narrow self-interest and take up the chase of a greater ambition: our collective capacity to do big things, especially when it’s hard,” said President Obama. “It was a call to citizenship as true as the words of our founding and a conviction that helped guide me to public service as a younger man – a belief in the possibilities of our democracy and the power of what we, the people, can do together.”

Sounds like a liberal circle jerk to me. They didn't name what he did to get it. GHWB won it for breaking a campaign promise and raising taxes when they needed to be raised and Ford won it for pardoning Nixon to heal the country. They could of have atleast BSed it and said that Obama got it for Obamacare but it seems like he got it for just being black.

We'll have to wait and hear the citation to know if you are right.

Sounds like Liberals sucking each others dicks to me... Obama, Gore... these guys are worse than the Hollywood Actors giving each other awards.

LOL, he got the peace prize for dropping 10,000 bombs on Syria.

Apparently, playing golf a jillion times during war shows "courage".

So no example? color me shocked.

Us Obama Supporters are Retired ... we're Fat and Happy and enjoying the Back-2-Back Ring Ceremony and Banner Hangings.

The Economy for me is great, so Color me content ;)

Wouldn't know anything about that, but please carry on, I'll let the experts talk.

Lol ! Is that supposed to take the stink of his horrible legacy ?
Make up for a agenda that led to staggering Democrat losses over the last 3 election cycles ?

His supporters might be psyched, but I guarantee there are Democrat politicians out there wishing he would just disappear.

But no, he's going to spoil the brand for years to come.

LOL, you have 16 lousy governorships, 27% of state legislature positions, and you've lost the House, Senate, presidency, and Supreme Court.

That's your boy's legacy in a picture frame.

I don't care, that what you get when you have do everything by yourself ... so the Dem establishment screwed themselves.

But look at the bright side, you always have Democrats to fix Republicans screw-ups ... they're really good at it.

See you next Economic Meltdown.

Please don't mention Legacy ... Trump can't get through a 12 hour period without a screw up.

You barely have a party. Nancy Pelosi is the face of your future. Ponder that.

To be fair Obama won the Peace Prize for being half black and not Bush first then he dropped the bombs on Syria and Doctors without boarders hospitals.

So this is like the Nobel Peace Prize then....

Ya, this kind of back slapping does not have the same mileage it had BT (Before Trump)

Please don't mention Legacy ... Trump can't get through a 12 hour period without a screw up.

You can say the magic word all you like, the truth is Obama's legacy led to the Democrats losing over 900 State legislator seats, 14 Governors, the House majority and the Senate Majority all in 6 years. Receiving the Centennial John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, or any other award for that matter isn't going to rewrite history, or make him a decent President
