I agree that it raised a lot of questions, like: "What the hell are you thinking?" and "Was whatever you were talking about really worth the attention the meeting received?"

All the same though, they were pretty open about the meeting, which entirely shut down forward motion of that angle during Clinton's campaign. If then Senator Sessions had simply admitted to the meeting during his confirmation we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.
 
It should be noted as well....
Sessions had Two Weeks to correct/edify the record with his post-testimony Written responses.
He still did NOT mention any conversation or meeting of any type.

He could have said/edified, "I did meet with him, but campaign didn't come up".
He didn't 'remember' TWO meetings in that period... until today after he was caught.
He's a Liar and likely co-conspirator.
