President Trump's address to Congress

That last one indicates him boasting about a popular vote that did not exist. He blamed immigrants for him losing the popular vote with zero proof.

TD, I had a massive post typed out for you with commentary on each one of these quotes but, it glitched out and I lost it. I'm too fatigued and disheartened right now to try and recreate it. But, basically in Trumpworld immigrants and refugees are violent people prejudiced against white people but, Trump doesn't have the data to back his claims of rising crime and violence. So, like with everything else he puts the "big lie" out there.

We're talking about a person that built his entire political career on dog-whistling racism about Obama's birth certificate.

where do you get this nonsense about minorities

where do you get this crap that illegals-who aren't in this country properly are the same as people who immigrated in accordance to the law

the last thing you quoted from him that you commented on appears not to support your comment at all. You apparently just made that up

I'd like it better if Trump lived there.

hopefully all the the people with TURDs (Trump Unacceptance and Resistance Disorder) who claim they were going to leave the USA if Trump won would actually live up to their promises or threats or petulant rants

Gee, I don't know from deductive reasoning. Trump scapegoats minorities for political gain. He lives in a made up world of rising crime rates. He made up two murders during Obama's farewell speech in Chicago. A lot of immigrants are here legally. Such as refugees who he uses as a political punching bag. Undocumented persons that are otherwise peaceful people are not criminals requiring crisis attentions. A large portion of undocumented people here overstay J-1 visas from Eastern Europe. Where's the outpouring from Trump on that crisis? To Trump the only time immigration is a crisis is when you come here from Mexico or as a refugee. Trump uses Mexicans and Muslims as a political tool to subjugate the general peanut gallery. It's an old political hatchet job and has served it's purpose well over history. You guys should wake up to the fact that you're getting worked by a con man who rolls with the 1% not blue collar America.

I mean someone once screamed "Liar" at Obama during the state of the Union so the bar is pretty low .

While a low bar, booing at victims of crime would be savaged in MSM if it was a Republican.

Looking at your post and thinking about Trump's "One nation, one blood, one destiny". Trump said both and that bothers me.

'One blood'? He said that?

Joe Wilson apologized for that 367 times, too. Pretty much time to let it go.

Well as Higgy forgets to mention.. Prime Minister's Questions sessions are pretty feisty as well.

Last week, I predicted that CNN, and other MSM would say good things about Trump's address to congress. Sure enough, here is the CNN report.

Donald Trump delivers first speech to Congress - CNNPolitics.com

"It was an uplifting and unifying message that many Americans have rarely heard from Trump, who argued "the time for trivial fights is behind us."

The reason I made this prediction, is because speaking before Congress, and more importantly, working with Congress, is a presidential duty. Up until now, Trump has participated in a lot or unpresidential actions.

Now this was a prepared speech, and it's back to reality tomorrow. Will he start tweeting and attacking the MSM again, or will he learn from this, and start acting presidential?

I think that was because more Americans are victims of crimes perpetrated by other Americans than by illegal immigrants.

That's true, but we shouldn't have add to it.

Did people really boo when Trump was talking about victims of illegal immigrant crimes?

I didn't hear that. That would be awful as the families of the victims were there.

The head of the Young Turks - who are famously progressive - released this 4:29 video on the speech:

Best Trump Speech Ever

Ya, I agree with this, the most important part being that the D's are lost.

Crimes white people do to minorities don't register on Trump's radar. He had to be coaxed into a response to the Quebec shooter. But, we got 20 tweets about a Muslim attempting a knifing rampage.

And he talked about all the shootings in Chicago and didn't even mention which group was committing the majority of those crimes or which group was the victim of the majority of those crimes. Clearly Trump deviated from the narrative you are pushing.

I think that was because more Americans are victims of crimes perpetrated by other Americans than by illegal immigrants.

Yet, crimes committed by illegal immigrants are completely preventable. They are a self inflicted wound because we don't protect our border and enforce our immigration laws.

Krauthammer made an important point about a compromise on immigration from Trump, similar to the situation with Nixon and China---he is the only one that could do it. But getting Democrats to hold to their word on enforcement has always been problematic. It will require both sides to give and neither shows much inclination to do so.

I think that was because more Americans are victims of crimes perpetrated by other Americans than by illegal immigrants.

So we should neither care nor try to do anything regarding the latter, right?

He wants to start a fund or scholarship for victims of illegal alien crime, therefore, he really doesn't believe we are or should be united? Or something? I'm just guessing at what you're saying - is that what you're saying?

Illegal aliens aren't us - duh. Who else do you want to include with us? PIankton floating in the ocean? Aliens from Mars?

It was a solid speech. It was a what was needed from him at this time. There was little to be critical about.
He is correct in what he said. I read the transcript and I can agree on most of his points other are neutral but I can't see
Anything negative in that speech at all.

So why is it that the left wants to maintain sanctuary cities and states? Why exactly won't liberal cities and some liberal states do their part? I'm very curious why liberals find it in their interest to protect people breaking the law.

Undocumented people are here illegally. they do not have permission to enter the US.
that is why they are undocumented. we have laws against that. breaking them is illegal.

It doesn't matter why they are here or what cause them to be undocumented the fact is they are.
continue making stuff up.

Even Trump had to have some respect for the U.S. Senate. His speech contained no epiphanies. Just par for the course conservative ideology. The minorities are the source of your problems. We're building more jails to hold all of them. You should be scared of them. And the rich people in this country are your friends. That's why we're rewarding them with a gift basket and a stuffed hog. Wake up people. I'm gonna run 2020 with the campaign slogan, "Don't Vote for Republicans"

LOL, it is going to be a long four years for people like you and when he delivers on his promises for economic growth, job creation, and strong national security a long 8 years. Results matter more than the rhetoric of people like Sanders who has accomplished NOTHING or Pelosi who helped the Republicans win the House in 2010-2012-2014-2016 so the best you can do is continue to criticize something apparently you don't understand

It was an optimistic speech thus a downer for you and the left as you need gloom and doom to promote the leftwing agenda. This country wasn't built on gloom and doom therefore again you lost. Great speech, Mr. President!

Now that the speech is in the can, I hope replays of the Democrats sitting on their hands when the President spoke of creating jobs, and improving education, get played over and over.

The imaging coming from the petulant children on the left side of the aisle last night was political gold.

The left and Schumer are the typical entitlement liberals who believe they are entitled to the CEO position without even working for the company or starting out learning the business. Democrats are always going to be in denial because they refuse to admit they are nothing more than welfare whores who keep their power by keeping others dependent on the "free stuff" they offer"

What's incredible is that you don't see the irony in your post, and that your first sentence perfectly encapsulates Trump's ascendancy to the presidency.
