Muhammad Ali Jr. detained by immigration at Fla. airport

Couldn't read without taking some survey. Was he traveling with the US Olympian Ibtihaj Muhammad?

Click the X and you get to the article. Used the original story instead of 3rd party repeats, but you can google it.

And no, he was in Jamaica with his mother to hold a speech.

Muhammad Ali Jr. detained by immigration officials at Fla. airport

And before the usual suspects attack.. he was born in the US, his father was a rather well known American... and he of course has a US passport. This happened on 7th of February, which means after Trump took office, so no you cant use that as an excuse either.

Did you have a hissy fit when a 90 year old white lady was stripped right down to her pubic hairs by the TSA in 2011?

I agree, we are fascists.

Nope, because I did not read about it. Had I, then I would have had a hissy fit. Does it surprise me? No it does not, because as a non-American I know how people are treated going into the US. However this was done to an American citizen, just because he is Muslim... that should send alarm bells ringing for most sane people.

If that agent stepped over the line of the law, then he/she will be dealt with, as he/she should be

Your fascist America comment was over the top and you know it.

One case is just that... someone stepping over the line, two cases hmmm, but 3+ is a pattern.

Welcome to the Fascist States of America..

Oh yay, we need more mindless hyperbole...

See Pete, the story is somewhat important, but you draw attention away from what should be talked about by going so totally over the top. The US is not Fascist, it is not close to being fascist, and it is not going to be fascist.

If I had heard about that at the time I would have indeed protested strongly and denounced such horrendous treatment of a 90 year old woman.

But not because she was a white woman, who gives a crap about a persons color when they are being treated so badly (if she was treated badly). And she was not stripped down to her pubic hairs, she had a wallet sewn into her bra and should have just been patted down instead of being forced to remove her blouse and bra. Still disgraceful and it should have been done (if they had wanted her to remove items of clothing) in a private room by a female agent. This was all disgraceful what happened to 90 year old, at least, if it all happened as her son described it. The TSA vehemently denies these accusations.

But now for the other thing, what does this have to do with detaining an American Muslim for 2 hours for no apparent reason? He came from the Caribbean area and last time I checked that is not a hotbed for Muslim terrorists/Muslim extremism.

If there was a good reason to detain him fine, but if it was done just because he was a Muslim, than that is a very bad thing.

I certainly realize this and would not appreciate it happening to anyone.

The story has only one side of the argument at this point, and I would like to see if there were any other reasons for his detainment before I go off knee jerking.

I agree, if there was a good reason to hold him than fine, but if not, that would not be a good thing because that would mean that every Muslim or even Muslim sounding person would be detained for hours at the border.

Thanks Pete for posting this story and sharing your non-American perspective. Trump, ever the megalomaniac entertainer, has reignited global interest in American politics. I appreciate that aspect of his tenure. The U.S. government has strong checks and balances. Expect Trump's lunacy to lead to his ouster by powerful members of his own Republican party. Do not expect Trump to finish his term.

People being detained at airports and interrogated didn't begin with Trump.

this nonsense has been going on since W Bush. No president, including Obama, cleaned up the TSA's act.

glad to see the left cares again. Code Pink will likely show up soon to care about bombing other countries too.

Three out of untold MILLIONS.

Wow Pete....That's some real nerve to call us Fascist, considering what Denmark has done with it's law's and push to shall we say dissuade Muslim immigration....

It's all due to this hysterical and radical approach to having lost the liberals are taking. They have declared war, the country be damned.

This fuels those segments of foreign populations with for the USA in their bellies. And the Eu elite is using it for all it is worth in the hope of shoring up their messed system by creating a foreign enemy. So don't be surprised. It is our liberals playing into our adversaries hands.

Well, that's a good hypothesis, I would however, hope that those pushing this vile agenda are at least smart enough not to throw stones from the doorway of their own glass house.

This is disturbing on so many levels.

You mean the sheer hate that speaks out of such a bigoted statement? Or that it is our liberals whipping up the rage? Or that politicians in foreign countries are feeding the hate of the USA in their countries for their own reasons?

What was the race and religion of the TSA agents?
