White House blocks News Organizations From Press Briefing

Eh, this incident really doesn't seem to be a violation of the 1st Amendment. That being said, I do think this move most definitely goes against the idea of Freedom of Speech.

Yeah Priebus is not powerful enough in the White House. I think his days are limited especially if the town halls get anymore chaotic. They could easily relocate him to work on "party politics." As an excuse to kick him out.

He hand culled and eliminated those orgs that broke and published how he (perhaps illegally) leaned on the FBI, to quash the investigation into his Putin ties.

Wow....seriously Rev? We don't always agree...in fact, we probably disagree more than we agree. But I have never taken you to be one of those who would start parroting back the whole "Fake news", CNN is bad crowd. You have more credibility than that. You are better than this.
 
I find it weird how Trump banned The Hill, but he's constantly posting articles they've written that he agrees with on Twitter.

I cannot believe how paranoid is this administration. Flinging out alarmist rhetoric is one thing, altogether different when the government tries to trample free speech.

This is in ONE month...this is only the beginning. You simply cannot maintain the program of dismissing everything as "fake news, disgusting" as long as there's someone out there to tell the true story. Block that and you have tyranny.

I will never again tolerate any conversation from any American about the constitution.....you're going to have to convince me anyone there actually gives a ****. All through the Obama years the right whined and weedled about how the constitution is being obliterated...

Now its their turn to make excuses....and they will. If there is a response to this it will be questioning whether the constitution is under attack at all.

Ben Franklin aid it all: "anyone who would sacrifice freedom for security doesn't deserve either.

It specifically allows freedom of the press.

And I'd argue barring the press from the presser infringed upon those freedoms.

I hope this goes to the courts, absolutely.

And rather than argue technical legality, why are you attempting to support a President that's withholding media access to those that broke a story about his possible illegal actions in attempting to quash the FBI from investigating his other possible illegal actions?

What's up with that?

My point being that Bannon ordered Priebus to contact the FBI about Russia reporting and set him up.

This is not fake news and Bannon didn't want the press in today so it would blow up this weekend and hurt Priebus.

Everything Bannon does is calculated and he knows the FBI is on this administration's ass.

I'm wondering how much of Comey's testimony behind closed doors was leaked by GOPs to the WH .

Without even looking at the thread I bet I can name every clueless con who'll applaud this and all other steps closer to dictatorship.
What they don't understand is that the media will still be here long after Trump has been consigned to the trash heap of history.

trump may have his GOPs over the media, but he's lost the INDYs .

The freedoms of the media was always something I though a great advantage the US had over many European countries. It would be disturbing to see the country lose this competitive advantage.

I dont like it, but hopefully this will force those organizations to go back to actual investigation. They got soft during Obama when they would just repeat whatever he said without question, follow up or investigation. Hopefully the media he is allowing wont do the same.

Good for Trump. One of the reasons I actually overlook his immature antics is because he is the first republican president in memory to stand up to the media and call them out for what they are--liberals.

Did you miss the Executive Order that says Trump can accept or reject any source of information - and has the right to alter any portion, in part or whole, any given information disseminated by such a source - to suit his narcissistic, overly estimated sense of intelligent, self-worth or self-image?

Those were Bannon's words yesterday, that this is gonna get worse. That the media is the opposition party. With trump calling the media the enemy today.

The only good part is that trump can't keep his mouth shut, meaning his opposition will NOT sleep, go away and forget to vote .

Ditto on every clueless liberal being in here who applauded Democrats shutting out Fox News. I wonder if they understand yet that Fox is still here and dominating while Obama is relegated to windsurfing.
