Pence, Missouri governor join cleanup at vandalized Jewish cemetery

Trump's belated crawl to condemn antisemitism as "horrible" and "painful" might be more credible if his record on prejudice in general wasn't so lacking in lustre.

That's probably true. He would have done himself a lot of good to be more vocally against bigotry during his campaign.

Trump level. That was the exact level of his response. "Antisemitism? Some of my family..." It's all about him again.

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them" as Maya Angelou said.

Thinking trump is an anti-semite is probably as dumb as when trump pushed obama's birth cerificate was fake. so you are pretty much in the same boat with this dumb ****.

So this is buried in CNN's politics section, meanwhile all over CNN is suggestions that this administration is anti-semetic....

For example this link, where he must "prove it".

""The anti-Semitic threats targeting our Jewish community and community centers are horrible and are painful and a very sad reminder of the work that still must be done to root out hate and prejudice and evil," Trump said Tuesday during a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The President said that his tour was "a meaningful reminder of why we have to fight bigotry, intolerance and hatred in all of its very ugly forms." -Donald trump

When was Obama made to "prove it"? What does Trump have to prove here? and why?

If I recall....Obama was forced to show his birth certificate.....because of Trump. Now Trump is getting a taste of his own medicine....boo hoo.

You obviously are concerned by the threat posed by his relaxed attitude to discrimination and prejudice.

Trump pandered to nationalists, racists and bigots to get their vote....and now they're his base. Or did you think the recent arson, bomb threats and vandalism of mosques and synagogues just happened in a vacuume?

You care more about a business in the media sector than about the actions of the sitting president. I am happy Trump told you what was really important. Bias in the media is a terrible scourge compared to a blundering presidential administration.

So you hated it then, but now that it's turned around, it's bad. noted.

How is it blundering? because your media masters told you it was?

Show me how he did this?

The recent bombings? most of the attacks on mosques turned out to be fake, the attacks on synagauges tend to be done by muslims.

nice try tho....

So you tell me how does an anti-semite have half his family as jews, orthodox jews, as well as be a big real estate guy in NYC?

It is insanity that you swallow the latest load that he's an "anti-semite".....

**** he is on record stating he shoved mar o lago down palm beach's throat because they did not allow "blacks or jews"

Don't you people get tired of looking so foolish with this stuff?

You think you can't be an anti-semite with Jews in your family, do you hear yourself?

That being said, I didn't call him an anti-Semite. I said he's no champion against it, which is true.

He didn't mind their votes helping his campaign along.

Yawn. Empty, cosmetic showmanship has always suckered certain people.

I see that's it's working well here.

Very, very well.

No. They don't. It's like a hobby for them.

I bet some of his bestest friends are Jewish too... It's only his active staff appointees and suppoters that are antisemitic...

It's posts like this that bring me back to the forum. Which of his staff appointees do you think are anti semitic?

Tell me which of these appointees are anti semitic:

Jason Greenblatt
Greenblatt has worked as a real-estate lawyer for Trump for 19 years, and he is one of two Jewish lawyers whom Trump has said he would appoint as his Israel advisers. An Orthodox Jew and Yeshiva University graduate, Greenblatt studied at a West Bank yeshiva in the mid-1980s and even did armed guard duty there.

David Friedman
Alongside Greenblatt, Trump named Friedman, 57, as an Israel adviser. Friedman, a bankruptcy expert and partner at the Kasowitz law firm in New York, is the president-elect’s longtime attorney. The son of a Conservative rabbi with a family history of ties to Republican presidential candidates.

Jared Kushner
Kushner — the 35-year-old scion of one of New York’s most prominent real estate families and, since 2009, the husband of Trump’s daughter Ivanka — played a crucial role in the president-elect’s campaign, especially with regards to Israel. He worked on Trump’s speech to the AIPAC annual policy conference that earned Trump a standing ovation, and helped plan a trip to Israel for his father-in-law last year.

Ivanka Trump
Trump’s daughter Ivanka, 35, who converted to Orthodox Judaism, has served as the polished, softer face of her father’s campaign.

Boris Epshteyn
Epshteyn, 34, is a Republican political strategist and staunch defender of Trump who has appeared as the president-elect’s surrogate on major TV networks over 100 times, The New York Times reported.

Stephen Miller
Miller, who has described himself as “a practicing Jew,” joined the Trump campaign in January, quickly rising through the ranks to become “one of the most important people in the campaign,” as Trump’s campaign manager told The Wall Street Journal.

Steven Mnuchin
Trump and Mnuchin have been friends for 15 years, and prior to being in charge of Trump’s campaign finances, Mnuchin served as an adviser. Part of what The New York Times describes as one of Manhattan’s elite “most influential families,” Mnuchin and his father both got rich working at Goldman Sachs.

Lewis Eisenberg
He was one of a small group of Republican Jewish Coalition board members who did not flee from Trump’s candidacy, and was a major contributor to groups backing Trump’s election — only nine of 55 RJC board members gave to Trump.

Michael Glassner
Like many of Trump’s Jewish advisers, Glassner is outspoken in his support of Israel. Prior to joining the Trump campaign, he worked as the political director for AIPAC’s Southwest Regional. Glassner has praised the anti-establishment movement, and he told Jewish Insider that his experience with Palin and the fact that he lives in New Jersey, not Washington, D.C., made him a good fit for Trump’s political outsider message.

No, that wasn't my point. People can engage in actions, like Paul Ryan washing dishes at a soup kitchen, and fool suckers into believing a staged photo opp is actually something of substance.

Keep trying.

I see your point. It is kind of laughable seeing him with a rake while 3 or 4 secret servicemen just stand there, kind of like our county street workers.

But to give Pence some slack, he is head over hills more sincere than his boss. Basically this was a sincere gesture and not meant to mean he spent 8 hours there including a lunch break. Just like congressmen who visit a state's university football team and wears the team jersey. He has no real intent to go in as a wide receiver.

Trump pretending to be a champion against antisemitism is laughable at best.

The Bigot-in-Chief is at it again.

What exactly do you base this idiotic charge of "Antisemitism" on?

You think you can't be an anti-semite with Jews in your family, do you hear yourself?

Are you ****ing serious, take my post as a whole not cherry pick. the guy literally dropped his dick on the palm beach town council and opened up a club inviting jews and blacks, much to the town's objections.

he's on record stating he would not be a member of a club that did not admit blacks or jews.

he LITERALLY has a record on this. WTF, think for yourself man, you can have all sorts of problems with trump, but if you think he's soft on anti-semetism, your being a sheep.

So...... can you show me when Obama denounced anti-semetism? It's another overblown story you all jumped on. Just like the narrative that it's trump supporters that are doing it. there is an agenda, and you all are falling right in line lapping it up.
