Have to disagree. Went to a funeral a few weeks ago and was astonished to see several young women wearing mantillas, including one that was electric blue.

More style than religious. but that's an event, tradition more than religion, imo. Men used to where suits to church, now they wear flip flops and shorts.

So it's OK to shun the scarf in the face of "Islamic fascism" where foreigners are not required to wear it, but a must to comply with "Catholic Christian Fascism" to meet the Pope, where it is required. No hypocrisy there then.

Again, I will have to disagree. Over the past several years, there's been a bit of "revival" among young people of orthodoxy. It's too true about the flip-flops and shorts (and gum-chewing and phone-checking), but I think that head-covering and, in the case of Jews, ritual baths, may be a response to this.

I think the big point is, is it's a choice for them. these few people, (fake news stories making something very very small seem much larger than it is "year of the shark" type nonsense), they do not advocate or expect others to do as they do, but choose thier ways for themselves.

remember what was it 2010 when the media spent the whole summer having these stories on the rise in shark bites?

It was actually the lowest incidents of shark bites in a century. the news cycle was slow so they invented the "year of the shark".

etc. always some nonsense blown out of perportion. This is the seeding of that, though I doubt it would go anywhere as if you look overall attendence of religious services is way down.

It should be a woman's freedom to choose who she wants to comply with. If she chooses to wear it for the Pope, that's her freedom to do so - but to then oblige her to wear it for Mullahs is ridiculous - that's imposition, not free will.

I don't know how we got from mantilla-wearing to shark bites, but it seems that among the young who are going to church, a return to orthodoxy is a trend.

Marine Le Pen is a very impressive person, and I hope that before long we will see her leading France. Any Islamist who doesn't like Ms. Le Pen because she refuses to kowtow to him can go chase himself. The same goes for the limpwristed collectivists who carry water for Islamists because they share their loathing of Western civilization.
