Trump tries to explain remark about Sweden amid confusion [W:17]

1. Why the hell is Trump campaigning for 2020? Does he need a safe space from the scary press and WH staff?

2. Is Fox News going to fill his empty head with ideas on how to govern the entire time? Does Tucker Carlson know he can run an opinion piece and Trump will regurgitate it in a series of Tweets, with no time for reflection or fact checking?

3. When Trump bumbles along like a nationalistic valley girl, telling the world false statistics and utter lies, he may occasionally say something so demonstrably untrue that it will provoke a response from a foreign nation. Until Trump apologizes, acknowledges he made a mistake, and rescinds the falsehoods, he will just be a runaway lunatic in a fabricated world.

Yeah, all it meant is that he saw clips of an unbstantiated documentary about Sweden which he brought up (without saying that's what he was talking about) in the middle of a diatribe about terror attacks. Keep America safe, terror attacks, Tucker Carlson. All in 3 sentences. Yeah, he's a genius, that guy.

His post contains no slander, either. You should probably Google the meaning of the word.

You do know that the situation in Sweden has been negatively impacted? You might not like his way with words, but misrepresenting them is dishonest. Don't you think?
You would prefer defame to slander?

Slander is telling an untruth. You have zero evidence that what he is saying isn't true.

I'm sure every time someone called Hillary Clinton a felon you accused them of slander too, right?

1. Because he loves to campaign. The man thrives of attention and adoration, and that's where he gets it.

2. Yes. Probably.

3. His supporters don't care, and it's all everybody else's fault, in their eyes and in Trump's eyes.

For whatever it's worth.....

We hosted some Swedish soccer players and parents for a week for an international tournament, and we heard these exact stories from these parents.

Blond-haired women are targeted because the likelihood of them being Muslim is very slim, and as such, they are considered inhuman by certain sects of Islam, and therefore, are free to be raped without recourse from Allah.

That's just what we heard.

It is bizarre watching the gymnastic efforts that you guys make to attempt to defend this fool. What is it that inspires you to feel the need to continually try to justify his idiocy?

No problem. But I find it is more intelligent or more honest to discuss substance and not faked or agitated trivia, as the case may be. There are plenty of important topics to worry about. Misrepresenting and haranguing over obviously unimportant stuff is tediously boring and often slanderous.

What he actually meant is TOTALLY IRRELEVANT. He could have been talking about Swedish meatballs for all I care.

What matters is that the President of the United States was babbling incoherently about another country during a speech/rally.

And he did not make a slip up on a minor issue - that would be fine (people often misspeak words or phrases).

He made the point about Sweden loud and clear - with emphasis. And he has shown ZERO remorse at doing so - which means that clearly he will do it again and again; talk about another country in a manner that no one else will understand until he clarifies it later.

If you Trumpbots are seriously saying that it is too much for Americans to ask that their President speaks coherently about other countries during speeches - than you people are wearing rose-colored glasses the size of pie plates.

And, once again, I have no political bias as I don't like either main political party...nor am I libertarian nor green nor communist nor anything else politically.

Good point. Still it makes it a bit more disturbing that he claimed he watched a Fox News show with soo many errors in his defence. Like for example this is what the policemen have to say about the interview.

Why were you interviewed?

”It was supposed to be about crime in high risk areas. Areas with high crime rates. There wasn’t any focus on migration or immigration”.

How did you react to the news segment?

”We don’t stand behind it. It shocked us. He has edited the answers. We were answering completely different questions in the interview. This is bad journalism.”

Anders Göranzon continues: ”It feels like hell. The real questions should be shown along with our answers. We don’t own the rights to the film, but the end result is that we don’t want to talk to journalists after this. We can’t trust each other.”

I think you might have mixed my post up with an other.

When you have a President who either actively produces fake stories...or is so out of touch due to skipping his intelligence briefings that he mistakenly produces fake stories on a continuous basis......its not a good situation. I can think of anything more important to talk about then the leader of the free world not having a clue what he is doing in the job. Trump is a disaster and the world is laughing at us for being foolish enough to put him in charge.

Okay, I get it. You just keep using the word "slander" but you don't know why. That makes sense.

I think you should reread the thread. Because the term slander fit, if Webster is any guide, but your post didn't seem to address it. But this is boring. So good bye.

It's not fake stories, it's Alt-Facts.

Many about the world are not laughing any more. I'm not sure this makes all well. But it doesn't make it sensible to go on and on about trivial slips of tongue or even wrong interpretations of Trump's statements. That, you see, really hurts the country.

The president of the United States can't continually have 'slips of the tongue'. He needs to say what he means and mean what he says.

Where would we be without the Trump-whisperers to interpret for us the cogent points hidden in Trump's apparently nonsensical rambling?

Trivial slips of the tongue? Is that how you guys are characterizing this now? You guys never cease to amaze me. It isn't the fact that we have an idiot as President who doesn't do his homework, skips his intelligence briefings because he thinks he knows more than everybody else and then runs his mouth off about things he knows nothing about...that hurts the country. Its pointing it out that hurts the country....smh......

He knows more about ISIS than the generals do.

Some have claime he misspoke.. dear Leader has stated the opposite.

Now what will the defence be? Will the criminals involved be the same ones who committed the Bowling Green massacre?

I don't understand the problem.

Why are people getting their panties in a knot, it's not like this is surprising in any way.

What is valid for discussion I think, is what is all this horse**** doing for the image of the American people on foreign shores....you gotta know Swedes are laughing their asses off, at you for having elected this asshole. I know Canadian comedians are having a field day...and have a look at Britain, a house of commons debate over a two million signature petition to ban Trump from British soil.

Seriously, you can't make this stuff up. This guy is the best thing that ever happened for journalists and comedians. However it's the image and reputation of Americans that's being impugned.

The sad part is that the Fox New show Donald Trump claimed he watched had a lot of factual errors.

Trump ? last night in Sweden: All the errors in Fox report on Sweden immigration | Aftonbladet

This and the lame explanations show just how desperate Trump's wags have become to cover Trump's ass. First Fox manufactures an incident with its roots six years prior, Trump expands and contorts that report, and wham..,his rug rats are all over the internet "interpreting" for him.

That's desperate, shamefully desperate. Seriously, Americans are going to have to get used to the fact Trump lies. Whether Americans care about that has yet to be demonstrated.

But then Trump got elected into the strongest economy in 30 years with the slogan "make American great again..."

I'm still wondering when America wasn't great

None of their mental gymnastics will detract from the fact that the President of the United States is relying on Fox News to tell him what is happening in the world.

We all knew the package and bought it all the same. He is different. Whether he will be as bad as had to be feared, we will have ti wait and see.

"Us guys" just aren't so hysterical as many are at present. May be that is why "us guys" are not as interested in appearance as much as in what is behind it.
