Trump tries to explain remark about Sweden amid confusion [W:17]

Oh woe is us. We haven't even recovered yet from the Bowling Green Massacre, and now this.

In what way would I be biased pro Trump? I am sure you cannot have read much of what I have written here. I just think it smarter to address real issues in a honest way than to run wild about populist lies. Did you even look at the video to know the words used?

I've watched that video many times. Trump's context was crystal clear to me. Trump inferred that a terrorist attack - similar to the terror attacks in Berlin, Paris, and Nice - had occurred in Sweden the night previous to his Melbourne, Florida rally.

It is not slips of the tongue that make the real difference, but rather why they happen or more precisely in what context they happen and subsequently the integrity or in this case the total lack of it, when it comes to acknowledging and or explaining them.

No, he did not infer a terrorist attack, unless you wanted to interpret it so. But that is not really the way to report news. One is supposed to say what really happened and not, what fits one's political agenda.

Once again, Trump tossed out an asinine statement ... "Last night in Sweden...." and was compelled to backtrack.

On Sunday, Mr Trump used Twitter to explain: ‘My statement as to what’s happening in Sweden was in reference to a story that was broadcast on @FoxNews concerning immigrants & Sweden.’
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Mr Trump was talking about rising crime and recent incidents in general, not referring to a specific issue.

"Last night" means exactly that ... the previous night.

Lie to the FBI about what you were doing "last night" and they can charge you with Section 1001 of Title 18 of the United States Code. A felony.

One interesting finding is that in the second link is the age of criminal responsibility is 15 in Sweden. It is 6 in the US. Maybe that makes a big difference in the stats. Maybe if they compared stats for just the age 15 and above…But no. Hardly makes a dent.

You have a misunderstanding of the way Sweden identifies people to do with statistical categorization. They believe people are people regardless of religious, ethnic or so called "racial" makeup. Therefore, people should all be identified as the same. Do you believe otherwise? As long as they enforce the law equally, what is your problem?
