Trump's pick for national security adviser turns down offer: White House official

It is ironic that you are put out because you asked a question assuming I was displaying partisanship, and when I call you out on it, you get hurt.

As my final comment on the subject, when I first asked you how you knew he was good and honorable, here is the response you gave:

"This is a very weird question. But I guess if you don't actually follow the news and do a little research on people being discussed in the news, you wouldn't know the answer to your own question."

Your snarky reply left me to ask you whether you had a possible position and have you confirm or challenge it. Sorry, I didn't know you were so delicate. Just because there are others asking you similar questions doesn't mean that I enjoy being associated with them.

Ciao.

I'm a little disappointed that Harward turned Trump down....Harward was an excellent pick, and we needed him....:(

I don't know why they were trying to force a team on him.

You can have this job but your staff will include this 12 year old boy scout, a box of Cheerios and a my little pony. Make it work!

LOL...Yeah, that is odd....I would think that if he was all that, and a bag of chips, the administration would be helping to clear offices so that he would get started immediately.

Just as long as they don't try to take away MY My Little Pony.

"For the first time in about a year I can look at something an American has done or said and be proud."

A story about a guy turning down a job and you make this about you.

Hmmmm...

Let's see. A total of 3 versions of the word "I", amid 9 versions of "he, him..." extolling that 'he" is wise and honorable, and YOU find a problem with me. This is why we can't have nice things

I has not been a pleasure speaking with you. In closing, a word of advice: stop trolling.

Good bye

Oh calm down. How important do you think this all is anyway?

Best quote!

It's a matter of perspective, not knowledge not patriotism. As I write this, a guy named Justin Trudeau is telling European leaders Canada is substantively increasing it's NATO participation....something the Trump crowd have been sobbing about for years.

Now, here you have it and what's important to the American Psyche? It's clear that close to half the posters here haven't even bothered to read the OP.

He only went a year hating America which is pretty good for a liberal

Michelle Obama went 40 years till she stopped hating America

So you have no evidence that he's a "good and honorable" man, correct? But you do know that he turned down a position in Trump's White House and so you're ready to anoint him to sainthood.
Could you please direct us to the official list of "good and honorable men"? Thanks.

Today on CNN they interviewed Cruz asking who he thought would be a good replacement for Flynn. He replied John Bolton listing several attributes and one namely he would be tough on Putin.

Around 4:00 Laura Rozen tweeted
contact says, Just was told Trump told KT McFarland to pick her new boss. She named Bolton. see where this goes

Then at 7:50 Fox News confirmed that John Bolton was being considered.

Fox News Confirms: @AmbJohnBolton on @POTUS’s short list for national security advisor. #First100

America's loss. Trump's...whatever the hell it is.

Fake news. Trump said his Pesidency was a fine-tuned machine, so this couldn't have happened.

That's what I believe it is. He didn't want to join an already sinking ship.
That, and similar to Trump denying Rex W. Tillerson his choice for Deputy SoS (Eliot Abrams), Trump told retired Vice-Admiral Robert Harward that he would have to accept Fox News commentator K.T. McFarland as his deputy. Harward would also have to accept Trump political guru Stephen K. Bannon on the National Security staff. After it became obvious that Trump wouldn't budge on this micromanaging, Harward said thanks but no thanks.

Trump is currently interviewing four alternative candidates to replace Michael Flynn at his Mar-a-Lago "winter white house" (which will cost US taxpayers yet another $3 million dollars for security). The best candidates will also demand that they be allowed to handpick their staff. Any candidate who acquiesces to Trump micromanagement will almost certainly lose a good measure of respect and credibility from the US national security community. This community is virtually unanimous in the view that keeping Bannon on the NSC staff invites internal friction and policy failure.

Should've let him have the team he wanted instead of micro-managing him.

Trump's pick for national security adviser turns down offer: White House official

President Donald Trump's choice for national security adviser, retired Vice Admiral Robert Harward, has turned down the offer, a senior White House official said on Thursday.

Harward was offered the job after Michael Flynn was fired by Trump on Monday for misleading Vice President Mike Pence over his conversations with Russia's ambassador to the United States.

The White House official said Harward cited family and financial reasons for opting not to take the job. Harward is a senior executive at Lockheed Martin.

Two sources familiar with the decision said Harward turned down the job in part because he wanted to bring in his own team.

That put him at odds with Trump, who had told Flynn's deputy, K.T. McFarland, that she could stay
.

Looks like Petraeus turned him down as well.

Yes, it is going to be the mode of operation by concerned reps as they see a nut in the office and 2018 is not so far off. I would not work in this Pee Wee Herman White House because I would not want it on my resume. Dump Trump NOW~
