NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out of st

Re: NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out o

Of course I did, but living somewhere and being a legal resident are two different things.

You need to call the NH Attorney General and express your unhappiness with his rules then. They work well for those of us who live here.

By the way, can you tell me what an "illegal" resident of New Hampshire looks like if he lives in the state and is a US citizen?

Lol, what unhappiness?

WTF is an "illegal resident" and why would I care what one looks like?

You talked about "a legal resident":

Of course I did, but living somewhere and being a legal resident are two different things.

I asked you what a "legal resident" is. If you're not legal, you're illegal. So what is a "legal" resident of New Hampshire?

By the way, do you live here, or are you just obsessing about us?

Re: NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out o

So what is a "legal" resident of New Hampshire?
A legal resident of New Hampshire is someone who meets the legal definition of "resident" under state law (see for example New Hampshire Revised Statutes Chapter 21 Section 6).

If you're not legal, you're illegal.
No... If you're not a legal resident you simply don't meet the definition. That doesn't make you illegal.

Please let me know if there's anything else about your state that you need help understanding.

You're not answering the question. A legal resident is someone who lives here.

21:6 Resident; Inhabitant. – A resident or inhabitant or both of this state and of any city, town or other political subdivision of this state shall be a person who is domiciled or has a place of abode or both in this state and in any city, town or other political subdivision of this state, and who has, through all of his actions, demonstrated a current intent to designate that place of abode as his principal place of physical presence for the indefinite future to the exclusion of all others.

Now what is it in your legal opinion that makes someone not a "legal resident" of New Hampshire when he or she shows evidence of his residence being here?

Re: NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out o

What gets me is NH currently has a bunch of bills on tap that are going to strengthen our voter laws and redefine domicile. So that is going to give Trump and his supporters to tweet and go all over tv saying "see NH has voter fraud or they wouldn't have changed all the laws." I can hear it now..lol

Re: NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out o

So if you live in NH while not meeting the legal requirements of a resident... then you would be....
...not a resident. Or a "nonresident" as they say.

Now please tell me how if I live in NH I'm not a resident.

Re: NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out o

Trump claimed thousands were bused in here. Miller made a fool of himself claiming that everyone in New Hampshire knows this happened. Everyone from the state Attorney General to the state Republicans to former AGs to people like me who live and die for the politics here in NH know that there's no truth to the claim. Nobody was being bused up here by the thousands. I live in a city close to the border and work for the local elections, and it simply didn't happen and has never happened. Miller is a liar, and with all due respect to the man from Kansas, he wasn't here in November, and he looks silly too.

CNN is correct.

The Washington Examiner, not exactly a liberal outlet, is even running the story how the Republicans - and not the anti-Trump Republicans - in my state are denying Trump's false claims.

Trump and Miller are liars.

Exactly. Fellow Granite Stater here, and you hit it, solid.

Maybe you and I missed the hundreds of busses in November, filled with Massachusetts residents carrying no proof of residency here, but instead just MA driver's licenses. Apparently, everyone else in the state missed them too!

Bad enough that they're lying. Why do they have to drag us into it? Pick on another state.

Every state has their own definitions of resident and non resident. Some have wait limits to register. Believe I saw NH is looking to make people wait 90 days to register.

I just could not believe that spittle-flecked angry little Miller boy give those performances on Sunday.

On Meet The Press:

Miller: Ask anyone in NH, they'll tell you.

GS: Where the evidence?

Miller: Ask in NH, they'll tell you.

GS: But you have provided zero evidence.

Miller: Ask anyone in NH, they'll tell you.

GS: But you have provided NO evidence.

Miller: Ask anyone in NH, they'll tell you.

Seriously..WTF?

4 ***ing minutes of this...GS asked again and again and again for evidence.

"We'll get back to you on that if you like, George."

What a mess.

Well to be honest, when I lived in Mass the students bragged about coming up to vote in NH because we had such lax laws about it. Now this was the early 90s but I know all my neighbors swear they still see people up here. One of my kids has a Mass and a NH license since moving. So technically she could try to vote in NH as well. That's why there are bills on the table about it.

Well another issue was Gov Sununu coming out and saying we had voter fraud here right before the election. He shouldn't have done that.

"Just days before the November election, then-GOP gubernatorial nominee Chris Sununu told conservative radio host Howie Carr “there’s no doubt there’s election fraud here and they’re kind of – I don’t want to use rigged, that’s like the word you’re not supposed to use anymore – but they have really gamed the system in their advantage.”

Sununu to NH1 News: 'Not aware of any widespread voter fraud'; but adds laws should be 'tightend up' | NH1

I saw that too, and almost jumped though my skin. George really handed it to him, too.

Ask anyone in NH? Okay, ask you and me. Or Jennifer Horn. Or Fergus Cullen. Or anyone at the Union Leader. Nobody seems to know about this.

Because it didn't happen.

You're not answering the question.
I answered the question I was asked - "So what is a "legal" resident of New Hampshire?"

A legal resident is someone who lives here.
No, you looked up the statute, but you didn't read it.

Now what is it in your legal opinion that makes someone not a "legal resident" of New Hampshire when he or she shows evidence of his residence being here?
The most obvious answer should be clear if you read the statute -

id est...

a person who is domiciled or has a place of abode or both in this state and in any city, town or other political subdivision of this state, BUT WHO HAS NOT through all of his actions, demonstrated a current intent to designate that place of abode as his principal place of physical presence for the indefinite future to the exclusion of all others.

There's voter fraud in every state. And unless Sununu knew the day before that the Dems were about to bus 3000 MA residents up here with nothing but a MA drivers license in order to keep Kelly Ayotte out of the Senate, it still doesn't have anything to do with the false claims by Trump and his lying sidekick.

Did you see 3000 MA residents in buses on election day at your polling location?

Re: NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out o

Miller now is saying he learned about the voter fraud here while he was Scott Browns campaign manager.

Scott Brown's campaign was 3 years ago. That still doesn't explain why he says there were 3000 MA residents bused up here on Election Day in 2016, with no evidence at all to support it.

Re: NH Senate race that swung on 743-vote margin may have been decided by 6,000 out o

A legal resident of New Hampshire is someone who meets the legal definition of "resident" under state law (see for example New Hampshire Revised Statutes Chapter 21 Section 6).

Just for grins, I looked it up, and you're wrong actually. The test in NH is domicile, not resident. From the NH Constitution, Bill of Rights, Article 11:

11. [Elections and Elective Franchises.] All elections are to be free, and every inhabitant of the state of 18 years of age and upwards shall have an equal right to vote in any election. Every person shall be considered an inhabitant for the purposes of voting in the town, ward, or unincorporated place where he has his domicile.

And where you live is your domicile, even if you only plan on being there for a year or two. As you point out for no apparent reason, having plans to move would disqualify you as a "resident" but you'd still be eligible to vote per the NH constitution.

Also, too, see this discussion.
