Top Flynn deputy denied high-level clearance, off NSA team

Top Flynn deputy denied high-level clearance, off NSA team | Fox News

Is Flynn being sidelined prior to deporting?
The WH infighting will continue.
And the leaks will only increase.

What White House infighting? Regardless of politics, if someone isn't cleared for top national security then they aren't cleared. You can't just clear someone for security clearance based on politics. Regardless of your claims, this is not an example of infighting.

The clearance process is not political or subject to management discretion. If there's an issue then there's an issue.

That said, Flynn was my candidate from the beginning for senior advisor least likely to last six months.

You even highlited it...

Yep, and it was not due to bad credit. Considering he was in charge of the Africa desk within the NSA, he was subjected to regular SECURITY checks. If they did find issues, then why is he still employed by the NSA??

A loose cannon, with his own agenda.

Do you believe that??

Yes I do because I have actually held a security clearance before. They demand exact spelling with 100% of every adress you have ever lived at, names of all immediate family, they run your credit score and dig up all background information, even the ones the police have no access to.

For example I got busted with drugs on fort hood, that record is sealed on fort hood(how I had it revoked) and no police or anyone else can access it accept the fbi and a few other top agencies. So even though the police can not access it, someone running a clearance check will not see it either, however the agencies running the check will.

Even the credit thing is real, and they do it for police as well, for military people can join but are only granted base level security clearance instead of secret or top secret with bad credit. The reasoning is if someone has bad credit or too many bills compared to income, they would be more likely to sell information over financial reasons.

The FBI has Flynn on wire tap and verified that the dossier exists.

No wonder Flynn is trying to walk back his lies to Pence .

Some conservatives on DP stated yesterday that felon Flynn is heading for Leavenworth .

I missed that. Hats off to them but we still need evidence. That said, he is toasted.

Even if he's fired -- quite possible -- he faces no serious threat of jail time.

Do you think the reasons you listed above were why the SC was rejected?
I can just see the Director explaining his decision to the President, the clearance was rejected based upon the above.
Really.

Well this Admin has more leaks than the Titanic. Sure more will follow

It is unwise to speculate. I have held a clearance for over 41 years and I still hold it today.

Hmm, that hadn't occured to me. So then the head of NSA needs to go on a massive firing spree because unless someone has a legit national security issue, they shouldn't be prevented from getting cleared.

Starting with alt-reichists Bannon and Miller !!

But that is actually how it works, whether it was a failed credit check or an incident 20 years ago where he got arrested for doing cocaine off a strippers ass the system is what it is, and it does not make exceptions just because the president wishes it does.

Well Jack, for the Director to sign off on rejecting a clearance for such a position, more at play than we presently know.

The clearance process can lead to unexpected discoveries.
My bad so many to reply to - Evening Jack
Look at his present position. In the NSA, in charge of the Africa desk. And it shows up now??
I am well aware of what can derail an SC. If that is the case, why is he still employed and not set to the side in his present position, SC revoked, and then subjected to further investigation??

Imagine if Nixon would have had this GOP congress, versus the one he had .
Nixon was one craft SOB. His opening to China, well we all live with that disaster.

We don't know the whole story.

A senior director of the NSC?
Maybe you can't clear someone for political reasons (let's ignore Trumps son-in-law for the moment) but you can damn-sure withhold clearance for political reasons.

I have seen people denied clearance for pretty benign reasons, such as a bad credit report or past due taxes.

The deputy director of the NSA isn't going to lose his security clearance because of a bad credit score.
