Thoughts? Do you support the artistic message? Do you support the decision to shut down the exhibit for public safety? I support the museum's decision to shut down the exhibit. They don't want white nationalists squaring off against.. I'll use the term globalist urbanites for lack of a better term. We're gonna need some cage matches in the future to quell these flames. I've seen people on social media repeatedly threaten to "throw hands".

I can see the Nazism & KKK humor displayed in an artistic endeavor like The Blues Brothers Movie, but I don't see it's application in real life public interaction with it being fostered upon the unsuspecting.

We don't know that definitively, but it would seem so in this specific incident. The article does not report any other arrests at the time.

the actor slightly pushed a party crasher and pulled a hat off his head

another link says shia was arrested for fighting with his girl friend Mia somebody

he's really just a clown

but typical of the liberal snoeflake generation on campus and in hollywood

I'd like to see something like this in my city, but non-partisan. It would be interesting to see what public perception of the current events is.

I look at my wife's celebrity porn mags (In Touch, OK! et al), it has long been suspected that this guy has extensive mental health issues. And this is art??!! No, this is politics.

Well - when you have an exhibit garnering national attention, and enough notoriety and disruption that the NYCPD has stationed officers there 24/7 to maintain order, where it is likely being video recorded, it probably is *not* a good idea to commit even the most simple assault or battery against others right under the coppers' noses!

I fully support peaceful freedom of expression, regardless of the message or the messenger.

However, I do not believe anyone else needs be required to provide a platform for this activity.

So if the museum wishes to shut down the exhibit, more power to them. Take your message to YouTube, Twitter, or the nearest street corner. Or finance your own website. No one is stopping you (unless you turn violent or violate "terms of service").

Well, what you're forgetting is that - there is no alt-left and secondly the Black Bloc represent themselves, not the left or progressive organizations that set up and get permits to protests. Police are now making that separation and going after Black Bloc.

Nazi groups showed up at LaBeouf's demonstration, so according to you, they represent the conservatives.

Do you see your failure there?

It sounds like nyt made a salacious headline that implies something more to the story than is there. So i guy got into a fight with his gr and it got out of hand so the cops arrested him. That happens all the time. It sounds like a personal altercation not a political one

maybe he was angry that counter protesters who themselves were marginal nutcases also were making a mockery of his sacred artistic expression

they may have to fit this guy for a straight jacket someday

Actually, those beliefs make you pretty much on par with me, which is considered 'centrist' in most of the world with the exception of North Korea and the USA. Americans have never gotten past the labels and have not one ****ing clue what any of them mean. They eagerly adopted fascist thinking with Obamacare and embrace the Kim family's idea of freedom of speech.

White power fringes are NOT trying to steal the show, they are there to end it. By bringing violence, that's all that will be discussed who started it will be a matter of who you supported before the first fist flew. They are there to make sure the message of their rival is blown away by more garish and ugly headlines....as I say, blame and truth will not be partners

None of this is new. It was practiced by certain Roman legislators during the fall of Rome, it was THE favorite tactic of Germany's National Socialist Party and remains a handy tool in such places as Myanmar and Indonesia.

The New York Daily News reported that a number of white supremacists turned up at the site over the past three weeks, including one apparently wearing a Nazi hat.
