The children were going to die.

Mohamed Bzeek knew that. But in his more than two decades as a foster father, he took them in anyway — the sickest of the sick in Los Angeles County’s sprawling foster care system.

He has buried about 10 children. Some died in his arms.

Now, Bzeek spends long days and sleepless nights caring for a bedridden 6-year-old foster girl with a rare brain defect. She’s blind and deaf. She has daily seizures. Her arms and legs are paralyzed.

Bzeek, a quiet, devout Libyan-born Muslim who lives in Azusa, just wants her to know she’s not alone in this life.

And nobody claims that they are. However, when the vast majority of worldwide terrorism does come from Muslims, only a fool refuses to acknowledge that demonstrable fact and try to separate the non-violent Muslims from the violent ones. As much as this guy is a fantastic humanitarian and does something that few others of any religion would do, that doesn't actually prove anything about terrorism.

Bless his heart. It takes a lot of strength to do that. I admire this man greatly.

My next door neighbors are Muslims and the gentlest and smartest people I know.

Thanks for posting this. I put it on my Facebook page. Terribly sad but heartwarming story. The saddest part, though, went unspoken...that these foster children were not surrounded by the love of their moms and dads. Breaks my heart to even think about it...

It was implied that this man does these things because he is Muslim with that statement.

Yes the man is to be applauded as he is doing the hardest thing to do in the world but it should not be implied that his religion is the reason.
 
He is a better man than I, by orders of magnitude.

I applaud the man, and the compassion he gives to the kids he takes in

But I don't understand what his religion had to do with any of this

Be him Christian, Buddhist, Mormon, Muslim, or any other religion shouldn't matter one iota

And it doesn't belong in the story

The story is the man, and his willingness to take in these kids that are dying

And nothing else matters.....or should.....

As I said in my OP, it shows not all Muslims are terrorists. I will add ".... or bad people" to the end of that sentence.

Did his deeds attract you to the story, or that he is Muslim.

Are you surprised he is doing this even though he is Muslim?
