Looks like Flynn's two denials that he discussed sanctions with a russian ambassador while Obama was still in office were flat out lies:

A person filling the slot of National Security Advisor doesn't know his conversations could easily be retrieved probably by the NSA? Then man is either stupid, incompetent, too arrogant, or probably all three. Oh well par for the course of this new administration. No wonder the military forced him into retirement.

National security adviser Flynn discussed sanctions with Russian ambassador, despite denials, officials say ? Utne Altwire

Wow only three weeks in and this administration is unraveling fast.

BTW I believe 3 weeks of the 208 weeks of a 4 year term is 1 percent of a term. If there is this much drama in the first 1 percent of a president's term it doesn't say much for his longevity on the scene.

It makes me thing he may actually end up behind bars and impeachment would be the least of his worries.

When you elect someone without experience to the Presidency you are taking enormous risk. We paid the price with Obama and will do so now.

Explain what you mean here, please.

We don't, as a habit, elect VPs, the ones that might have the experience required to understand what running that specific executive office is actually like. We have had 3 in the last 60 years, LBJ, Nixon and GHWBush. In recent history we, the American people, did not want a Gore, a Cheney or a Biden. Governors have executive experience, but state government is vastly and expressly different from the Federal governmental system.

So, what exactly are you speaking of here?

I meant as I said. Obama had no executive and scanty relevant experience, when we took the risk of electing him. We later paid the price.
Trump had had practically no relevant experience for the Presidency. We knew this and elected him anyway. That was taking a larger risk than one might think rationally for a job at this level. Weare already paying for that. Whether we will get anything back is still in the air, but the dangers are growing that we will be very sorry.

How are we already paying for that? Be specific, the generalized media despair spreading aside, please.

Obama, true, had no relevant experience at all besides being in two government debating societies, the Senate of Illinois and US Senate. Quite different from building businesses with thousands of employees worldwide where one needs make decisions, get things done, show a profit, not force a product, like government, but make it better than the competition and for which someone actually wants to plunk their money down.

That is executive PLUS experience. All you naysayers are getting kind of annoying. Two years from now you can maybe have something built up credibly to say... unless you got proof of something else? Proof proof, not the voo doo touching of chicken entrails from the puppets of the elites, the media and both party establishments, but something a bit more reality based.

I'm still waiting for the grand scandal to break. Something big enough, like if Rex Tillerson sells Russia the Ukraine for Exxon Mobil contracts or something.

Is this worrying? yes, will it gain any traction, politically, no. Americans are lazy enough to just accept that slippery slimeballs run their country. They're cool with little corruptions and lies, as long as the economy keeps humming along.

Oh, no! We should all go shopping at Nordstrom's or burn down half of UC-Berkeley or something.

The only thing unraveling is the unhinged left.

Already some of our better allies are discussing publicly how to best replace their relationship with us to name one piece of damage. By forcing them to do that the thus far unquestioned alliance is no longer so and political forces like Le Pen's Front National or Die Linke have gained plausibility in what was only months ago generally thought of as political stupidity and even Poland's PIS sounds less supportive of the USA.

As for the comparison of running an inherited company as an owner with leading a superpower i really see no similarity.

Just who are these so far unquestioned alliances? The ones not paying their agreed upon NATO committments, those ones that should be questioned?

Besides, we know talk is cheap. The rest of the world will catch on as they acclimate to a new and improved, the better way to do things. All as their inverse IQs allow. The over-educated [read: indoctrinated] will be last in on those open but hidden secrets [ in other words since they rely upon mainstream media that does not report but omits real news, and often what they do report is not the truth, they are pretty much clueless ].

And I am guessing you are not talking about allies such as Israel and Great Britain, who are being brought back into the fold after being given the cold shoulder by the incredibly inept O bomb.

So, hmmmm, a wealthy scion who got their government jobs basically because of influence, Teddy with barely two years experience in ANY position he held prior to becoming president and FD not much more than his cousin...

Truman was a failed businessman and then promoted by the Pendergast Political machine...

Billy Boy was the governor of a backwater little state, that gave him what kind of stature and real experience in the world?

And, I thought I had requested not the goof ball media caricatures of Trump's business experience and so then you provide us the "running an inherited company as an owner" bs?

Come on, you are better than that.

Of course Pence lied too, on national TV, but he's blaming it on being lied to by Flynn. If that's true, you'd expect Flynn to be out on his rear end soon, but my guess is Pence knew all along and knowingly lied to the public, so nothing will happen, and the Congress won't care because IOKIYAR.

What price did we pay?

Our economy recovered from a catastrophe, the stock market is at record high levels, 20 million more Americans got health insurance, and he pulled out out, and kept us out of war. All this with no support from the partisan hack republicans in the congress and senate.

What more did you want?

Part of that is outrage fatigue.

You conveniently forgot all his bankruptcies, the people he's swindled, not paying taxes for at least two decades, and all his failed ventures. As the owner of two businesses I hope to God I'm not ever that kind of successful in business. He could be nearly bankrupt right now for all we know. We can't see his tax returns.

Keep telling yourself that. It's really way too early to have these kinds of issues.

Good evening Enigma...

From the original story, not this "altwire" who ever they are....

"Several officials emphasized that while sanctions were discussed, they did not see evidence that Flynn had an intent to convey an explicit promise to take action after the inauguration."

It's a total non story as far as I see...

This is really concerning. The administration is ....I don't have words.

Did Trump hire and nominate people according to how well they lie? That's what it's beginning to seem like.

He lied about discussing the sanctions with a non-ally foreign country who had been sanctioned by our country, before the inauguration.

That's far worse than responding from a private server to a staffer's email with a "c" in the subject line.

Well, we are much deeper in debt and have lost 8 years in international security. As for the 20 million people you mention, you are arguing as populists always do. Talk about the benefits and ignoring the costs, damage and prospective consequences is typical of sales techniques to the topically ignorant. It is especially effective, because one can train salespeople cheaply, because they only need memorise a few positive sounding headlines.

I think the problem here isn't that he did it. The problem is that he lied about it. And either lied to Pence about it, or Pence lied too. It's just bad optics all around.

We aren't paying for it. They (the left) are paying for it by getting a machine gun of policies they don't like. Ignore them.

The problem here is that Trump supporters don't care about lying when it comes from the Trump administration. I could only imagine the outrage if Hillarys staff had discussed lifting sanctions with a country before taking office and then lied about it even happening. Stuff like this is going to keep coming out. It's only been three weeks and we've already found out that they have no idea that they can't advertise Trump products, they've lied about discussions with Russia and Trump couldn't have ****ed up his immigration EO any more if he had tried because he simply doesn't give a ****. Mix this with all the leaks and this is clearly a Whitehouse that is going to go down in flames sometime this year. The president is unhinged and isn't even aware of the stuff he's signing or what his minions are doing if the leaks are believed.

Awwww, can't see his tax returns, good lord that is so minimal depth as regards a potential problem. Won't whiners ever give it up?

However, congrats on your businesses. All two of them. Being successful is hard, I give you your due, but hell, certainly you understand that pales in significance to what Trump has been doing, no offense. Were you spread out as far and wide as he has been, taking the same chances, and generally won bigly, I think you might have racked up a few losses along the way as well.

Smug does not really play all that well...unless of course you actually beat everyone else. Trump beat everyone else. Turns out some are bit players, some are backups and some are able to carry the whole show on their shoulders.

Trump is the latter.
