Gorsuch Calls Trump’s Comments on Judiciary ‘Disheartening

trump now wants McCain to apologize for questioning the "success" of the Yemen raid, which Spicer changed his story on today.

The trump WH will continue to be an over-lapping open-ended goon squad attacking all dissent .

I'll let you know what I think after I read Trump's inevitable barrage of ugly Tweets about this so-called SCOTUS nominee.

By the way, I agree with Gorsuch's assessment of the asinine words of the man sitting in the Oval Office.

I wonder Gorsuch really said that. You know what they say about second hand information.

Kelly Ayotte is his Sherpa, was in the meeting, and said he did .

Oh, I'm not expecting Trump to change. This is who he is.

It's just wishful thinking on my part.

Wishful thinking on my part is that we don't see Armageddon or other use of nuclear weapons in the next four years.

'U.S. Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch told a Democratic senator he found Donald Trump’s comments "disheartening" and "demoralizing" when the president criticized the judiciary over a federal court order that blocked his immigration ban.

Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut told reporters about Gorsuch’s comments after meeting privately Wednesday with Trump’s first U.S. high court nominee. Ron Bonjean, a spokesman aiding Gorsuch in the confirmation process, confirmed Blumenthal’s account of their conversation in an e-mail and said Gorsuch "used the words disheartening and demoralizing."

"He certainly expressed to me that he is disheartened by demoralizing, abhorrent comments made by President Trump about the judiciary," Blumenthal said outside his Senate office. "But I will be asking for more specific and forthcoming comments to those kinds of questions before I determine how I will vote.”'

Thoughts?

I can understand why he feels that way.

Is it possible that GORSUCH is in cahoots with trump just to gain 8 DEM Senators?

Nothing can be dismissed from trump, though DEM Senators are being the adults meeting with Gorsuch .

The idea that a man who as apologized for nothing should expect the apology of someone else is patently absurd.

Should we give them a cookie every time they do their jobs now?

There's this contributor at Conservative Review named Daniel Horowitz. He's a pretty smart cookie on Constitutional Law. He makes a convincing argument why courts have no jurisdiction over Trump's immigration order.

When Trump says the courts are too politicized, that's not bashing that's the truth.

Horowitz who by the way was one of the biggest Never Trumpers all the way through the election has been putting out several articles as of late in regard to the state of our judiciary. Lower courts were set up by Congress and Congress has the power to strip them of the unconstitutional authority they have given themselves. Congress also has the authority to set up how many immigrants we as a nation will accept and the Executive branch has the power to lower that number but not raise it as well as the power to stop immigration into this country from groups that pose a threat to this country. Horowitz not a Trump lover says the difference between Obama's EO's on immigration and Trump's is Trump is actually following the law.

Here's another article I thought was insightful.

I like his articles because he backs them up with the Constitution and cites case law.

Yep, Trump wins no matter what:

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Americans' trust in the judicial branch of the federal government has fallen significantly in the past year, and now a record-low 53% say they have "a great deal" or "a fair amount" of trust in it. Trust in the executive and legislative branches also remains near historical lows, but both were up slightly this year.

They like all Elites need to concentrate on doing their jobs if they want to survive the Rebellion with OK Reputations, cause lead by Trump the war is on. One of the main problems for judges is that almost everyone knows of divorce cases that were done so poorly that it does not look like the judges even tried. We also have had a long run of SCOTUS rulings that are purely political in nature rather than based upon law. Trump has a huge ripe target in going after judges.

My first thought is that after having a private talk with Gorsuch...

....the first thing the Senator did was find a reporter to leak a juicy tidbit he had picked up.

The idea that a man who as apologized for nothing should expect the apology of someone else is patently absurd.

Especially when McCain has served honorably and trump spoke dishonorably of McCain's service in the same war he dodged.

The fact is that trump is never wrong, which equates him with Putin, as trump equates the USA to Russia .

This is the same Blumenthal who lied about his military service, so my expectations are low.

My Lord you read some of their rulings and they are based on emotion not the Rule of Law! They have a history of legislating from the bench.. no wonders people have a lower opinion of them.

What do you expect from someone who said this on this topic: ""I was a good student. I understand things. I comprehend very well. OK? Better than, I think, almost anybody. And I want to tell you, I listened to a bunch of stuff last night on television that was disgraceful," Trump said, referring to the appeals court proceedings." and clearly is better than everyone else?

Also, he did say, "I speak with myself because I have a very good brain".

Should we give them a cookie every time they do their jobs now?

If so, that would be the first cookie for GOP Senators for two years.

At least GORSUCH had the decency to make his first phone call to GARLAND.

IMHO, trump's behavior will forever change the way GORSUCH approaches his decisions, along with Kennedy and Roberts .

GOPosters doubting Sen. Blumenthal should listen to what Sherpa Kelly Ayotte has said in confirming the two words.

trumpistani deflectors and deniers are at it again denying REAL facts backed up by a recently defeated GOP senator .

I have no doubt Gorsuch said it. Blumenthal is nonetheless still the same lowlife who lied about his military service.

I agree with Neil's statement. It would to Trump some good if he would try not to insult and demean everyone he disagrees with for a change.

You're asking that Trump stop being the kind of person he's been his entire life. He will not stop being rude, insulting, narcissistic, venal, dishonest and uncurious. These are the qualities he will have until he dies.

Since GOPosters are defending GOP appointees and issues, they OWN trumputin.

The low-life steaming pile of manure skkkumbag with FIVE deferments who pissed on the graves of POW/MIAs as losers, including Sen. McCain who trumpuke now wants an apology from, stated that his personal Vietnam was sleeping around and not getting STDs .

News Flash!:

Dr Ryan sides with a discredited NYTimes story!

Another failed prediction. Having said that, what Gorsuch said sealed his nomination. Now all you Dems are falling all over him.

trump/Bannon is limbaugh to the infinite power as he continues to divide America to the two extremes .

D's are going to find it impossible to stonewall this guy, he is a very good politician.

And trump sycophants are going to have a hard time criticizing trumps comments like the lapdogs and traitors they all are.

I'm not. The Republican congressmen have been "disappointed" by Trump's comments since he won the primary, including McConnell and Ryan. That didn't cause them to actually withdraw their support.
