And what bright ideas does Betsy have exactly?
School choice most primarily.
And what bright ideas does Betsy have exactly?
DeVos made it very clear in her hearings that she has no ideas.
I keep seeing remark after remark about her qualifications. Our public school system is pretty messed up in a variety of ways. It was messed up during the tenure of some supposedly very qualified people.
Maybe its not the qualifications but the ideas about what the Department of Education should be doing.
Maybe you need both.
Mega donor to the Republicans rewarded with position she's not qualified for. Surprise surprise surprise. Really bucking the system.
From USA Today:
WASHINGTON — The Senate confirmed Betsy DeVos as the nation's 11th Education secretary Tuesday in a historic vote, ending a tumultuous battle over her nomination.White House press secretary Sean Spicer expressed a vote of confidence from President Trump in his newest Cabinet secretary despite opponents saying she is unfit and unqualified to serve.
...With only two Republican members of the Senate — Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska — refusing to support DeVos' nomination, it left Democrats with a 50-50 tie to block her. Vice President Pence, in his role as Senate president, cast the tiebreaking vote in her favor. Betsy DeVos confirmed Education secretary; Pence casts deciding vote
Glad this is over with, and I hope that DeVos will do some good.
Food for thought
“I have decided to stop taking offense,” she wrote, “at the suggestion that we are buying influence. Now I simply concede the point. They are right. We do expect something in return. We expect to foster a conservative governing philosophy consisting of limited government and respect for traditional American virtues. We expect a return on our investment.” SOURCE
School choice most primarily.
That's not an idea... it's a bias against public schools. If she ever devises a workable plan to deliver genuine "school choice" for all sectors of society and across all income levels, then I'm sure she'll be taken more seriously by her detractors.
How does someone with no experience in education make it better?
Why do you believe in keeping kids in failing schools?
Why do you rely on a strawman argument to push your agenda?
your the one against school choice which would go to moving kids that are in failing schools to better ones.
so I am just wanting to know why you want to keep kids in failing schools?
it isn't a strawman at all. if you are against school choice then you are against moving kids out of failing schools and into better ones.
Bingo
How many of those GOP Senators accepted campaign $ from her? My oh my, that swamp is getting mighty full.
So you can't refute the actual argument.
So you can't refute the actual argument.
you were ranting against school choice it is clear in black and white.
so you don't even know what you were ranting about.
You're having an argument with an imaginary opponent of your own making.
denial fallacy it is then. thanks for the concession. have a nice day.

What about when that broom refuses to sweep floors with the brush end and refuses to state it will consider all dirt to be equally in need of being swept?Sometimes a new broom sweeps clean, Carleen, and that's what is needed.
What about when that broom refuses to sweep floors with the brush end and refuses to state it will consider all dirt to be equally in need of being swept?
Would you buy a broom that refused to sweep equally?
Your post is stupid and it made me laugh in the good (not mean) way.Buy a vacuum.
