Secretive anti-Trump protests to erupt Super Bowl weekend in Houston

In terms of efficacy of the revolt - maybe, maybe not.

But we haven't seen anything like this since 'Nam either, including the anti-Iraq War movement.

And I predict Trump will continue to alienate, and likely run afoul of the courts. His Travel Ban has already been restrained, and very possibly headed to the SCOTUS.

Obama alienated and ran afoul of the courts too. These are organized, paid protests--astroturf, if you like--run by the same 99%er crowd. This crap will fizzle just like that crap did. Even fringe leftists cant keep this up indefinitely.

I can only imagine you during the Boston Tea Party.

The anarchists that disrupted and broke the law need to be punished....but they are not representative of the opposition, they are just goons that want to break stuff.

This is far from the Boston Tea Party.....Good God..... This is people not liking that they lost an election and throwing a giant tantrum....

Well, if they do that, I suspect that the outcome will finally come to a head, trust me, football fans love football, and N OTHING interferes with football, and, well, the carry guns and stuff. this might be the end of their little temper tantrums. The money they're making off Soros seems tiny in comparison to dead rioters on the ground. Texas allows their citizens to protect themselves against violence. I really, super duper hope they make this error in judgement.

Tim-

Nobody carrying will be let into the game.

Boo hoo. Part of living in a free society means the freedom to assemble and protest.

No one censors speech they agree with, eh?

This isn't Nam, dude. This is obnoxious alt-left crybabies having a temper tantrum not a political movement.

The Nam anti-war protestors were not a political movement. I guess you weren't there.

There does seem to be a bad element that finds its way into these protests. From what I heard, the Berkley thing was peaceful until a black-clad, masked gang of about 150 thugs showed up and started destroying things. Not sure how they can be stopped, but it will be impossible to gain any broad public support for whatever the cause is if every protest is hijacked by these goons

I didn't claim it was. I was referring to the modern mob scene. The other poster brought up Nam.

Who knows who backs the anarchists? They aren't anyone I know..or want to know.

I've seen one poster today suggest Soros, which wouldn't be out of the question considering what he did in Eastern Europe....

Why would the left do this? It could be the far right.

In any case, expect many more protests by the peaceful people against Trump.

Yes, they possibly will die out.

I think it's going to be Trump dependent, though.

And 2018 is right around the corner, and could be a rallying cry.

WTH is with the "during the nightime" clauses?

I'd LMAO, but it's not a laughing matter.

That's actually pretty interesting. The night time thing was created to help with cattle rustling.

Ah, yeah interesting.

Still a pretty morbid subject though, as much as I hate thieves.

"Far right" In America? Really? Could you give some examples of the "Far right"?

Then there's this:

“If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed; but if it happens after sunrise, he is guilty of bloodshed. A thief must certainly make restitution, but if he has nothing, he must be sold to pay for his theft” - Exodus 22:2-3.

As long as it's peaceful, that's fine:

"The goal: Present a large, loud, peaceful and, in the end, united front, mostly targeting President Trump and his policies on immigration. No fewer than five marches and rallies are scheduled across Houston for Friday through Sunday, and the protests will culminate on game day outside NRG Stadium, site of Super Bowl LI."

Peaceful, or not, if they cause someone to miss the kickoff, there's going to be some ****...lol

I predict those people will look dumber in 4 years than they do, now.

That's the first thing you've said in months, to which I agree. ;)

I was the one that suggested Soros jokingly in a conversation with Kobie. We were joking about ninjas. It wasn't a serious conversation.

The group that started the rioting was a far left anti fascist group called Antifa. They are a world wide organization. This is proof that both sides have idiots. The right has idiots and the left has idiots. Maybe it's time to stop arguing about who's idiots are the most idiotic and quit blaming whole parties for the idiocy of the extremist assholes that claim a one party or another.

What Is Antifa? Anti-Fascist Group Behind Violent Berkeley Protest Against Milo Yiannopoulos
“Antifa combines radical left-wing and anarchist politics, revulsion at racists, sexists, homophobes, anti-Semites, and Islamophobes, with the international anti-fascist culture of taking the streets and physically confronting the brownshirts of white supremacy, whoever they may be,” Antifa NYC told The Nation last month.
“Antifa” dates back much further that Trump and the rise of the alt-right. The movement began in Europe as a response to the rise of fascism in Europe in the 1930s. One of the first notable clashes occurred in London in 1936 at the Battle of Cable Street, when a march of 5,000 uniformed Blackshirts led by the leader of the British Union of Fascists, Sir Oswald Mosley, was greeted by an estimated 100,000 anti-fascist protesters.

The form of protest spread to the United States in the following decades and has attracted fresh prominence following the rise of Trump, who has surrounded himself with several advisors and cabinet members espousing far-right views.

Protest is the most American thing there is. A society that has free speech has nothing to fear.

(BTW, its "influence")

Rioting and protesting are not synonymous. ;)
