U.S. warns North Korea of 'overwhelming' response if nuclear arms used

Are you saying you have knowledge of at least some Trump murders?

I'm saying it's quite telling that you only insulted someone who's killed no one, but not two entities that have killed thousands.

well, it was how things were done in the cold war, against a much greater enemy than NK, so it must have been somewhat effective. it's obvious to me that he means actually hits another country with weapons, not a test of either.. although those might lead to further sanctions, if that is possible.

i don't think more sanctions are possible
what is left to sanction?
before this expression of intent, the tRump regime could have articulated opposition to any tests
but now backed into a corner, tRump will be found to be weak if he does not forcefully engage NK subsequent to any nuclear and/or ballistic missile test
think of Obama's 'do not cross this line' position in syria and how that blew up in his face

multiply that by 100 and that will be what tRump has earned for his braggadocio

Yes I insulted our narcissistic, unhinged president. I did a quick search of the forum and found that you never called anyone out that referred to President Obama as "Dear Leader", even though that was an insult that equated him with the murderous totalitarian Kim Jong Il. Obviously this reverence you have for the office of the presidency is newfound. ;)

Secretary Mattis' statement reminded me of something President Kennedy said in his speech to the nation about the Cuban Missile Crisis. In the middle of the speech, Kennedy began a numbered list of points. And the third item in his list was this:

"It shall be the policy of this nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the Western Hemisphere as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union."

I'm sure that got the full attention of most of the tens of millions of Americans who were watching or listening. But in a way, it was not as drastic a thing to say as it might seem at first glance. It was unlikely that any missile would be launched out of the blue in the first place, and stating our response so firmly made it even more unlikely. I think the same is true in this case.

I never withheld an insult from a couple of mass murderers that I mentioned in the same sentence, like you did. Now if you have anymore diversions, please submit them to someone else. Your disingenuousness and hate for our President over a murderous Korean dictator is duly noted.

The world has become a scarey place. And it's always the same few countries. For being the most powerful country on the planet, haven't done a very good job of containing these people. And in the case of Iran, we finance them.

How do we finance them Maggie?

Following in his daddy's footsteps. Every time the little gargoyle feels ignored, it's time to shake his little wee-wee at America. I guess he (and his daddy) felt safe to do that because Obama would just wag a finger and say "bad dog." Perhaps Trump won't be such a limp noodle as his successor was.

The irony here is laughable. You had no problem calling our former president the same name a murderous Korean dictator was referred by, yet all of a sudden you all kinds of respect for the office today.

How much money did we release to them just recently? A few hundred billion in cash, wasn't it? And here we are wondering what sanctions to impose yet again.

To be clear Maggie. That was not our money. It was their money. We "froze" it for a bargaining tool to get them to come to the table regarding nuclear development. To which they did. And THEIR money was unfrozen.

Look at it like this. You and I are at a party. You've had a few too many and I don't like that. So I take your car keys away from you. The following day, after you have sobered up, I give you your car keys back.

Did I give you a car? Of course not. It was your car to begin with.

Now, other than letting them have their own money, how are we, government/taxpayers, financing Iran?

I also spent a lot of time calling out the Korean man-child. But maybe you're a secret admirer, I don't know.

I did know this was their money. And that is what I meant by financing Iran. We returned the money, though. And here we are again looking for sanctions. They have proven their dishonesty, imo. And I'd bet we knew they were dishonest going in...

OK wait a second. You admit then that you recognize that Kim Jung Il was a murderous sociopathic dictator, yet you still no problem with President Obama being called the same name.

As a side note, no, I do not admire the dictator of North Korea.

Iran still owes $53 billion to US victims alone for acts of terrorism

So not all of it was their money
