Siding with the Democrats again. Guess we come to expect that.
Deflecting again. Guess we come to expect that.

It is getting worse if we are down to filibustering SC nominees, no matter their qualification.
You also failed to show where I said the Constitution says such a thing. I'm waiting.
The year they wouldn't even bring Garland up for a vote.
Stop whining. Expect the same treatment now.

Oh, ok. So you're point is that it's fine to hold up a SC nominee, as long as it's only 1?
All in all, you seem to be perfectly smitten with the idea that it's not a big deal to hold up SC nominees. So I don't know why you'd think this is any different.
I call it hardball.
1) What is the point of having any rules at all if they can be "suspended" on a whim?
2) This precedent will come back to bite the GOP when the Dems eventually retake Congress.
Why should the GOP tolerate a party that has zero interest in working together, and currently has only 16 governorships, 28 percent of state legislative offices, and has lost the House, Senate, and Presidency?
It's like the Patriots gameplanning for the Browns.
If you don't show up, why should anyone even tolerate you.
Dems are acting like petulant brats.
This is what authoritarians do when they do not get their way .... they change the rules to benefit themselves.
No you want it to look like the Senate wouldn't vote on Obama nominees, which is a flatout lie. He put two justices on the court. You think every president got that?
Well it certainly isn't trending in a positive direction.
california liberals appear to be serious about defying the federal government and becoming a santuary state
other libs fantasize about impeaching trump and driving him out of office short if 4 yesrs
based on that I dont think we sill see much cooperation or peace in our time
The Dems didn't change committee rules without notice to unilaterally cast votes.
Sure I am.No. No you're not.
Republicans vote to suspend committee rules, advance Mnuchin, Price nominations - CNNPolitics.com
This is what you get, Dems, for acting like petulant children for so long.
You insisted on filibustering Bush's Supreme Court nominee, which was highly unusual. You insisted on circumventing Congress by passing massive legislation with Obama's executive orders. You let the likes of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Obama steer you into the abyss.
So what goes around, comes around.
Today, the GOP found ways around process, too. You wouldn't show up, so they changed committee rules to get Mnuchin and Price into their cabinet positions.
If necessary, the same will be done for the Supreme Court nominee, Sessions, and everyone else needed.
I hope the GOP can get a supermajority in two years so a more fool-proof system can be put in place to do these things in a more stately manner.
This is what authoritarians do when they do not get their way .... they change the rules to benefit themselves.
No, its how adults deal with children. The dems refused to show up for the hearings. Apparently they have better things to do or aren't interested. So the adults in the room moved forward. And please, lets not pretend that if the parties were reversed you wouldn't be applauding the action. You only dislike authoritarian moves when its not your side doing them.
Yep, that's exactly what Obama, Reid, and Pelosi did. And now, the chickens have come home to roost, as Obama's favorite "theologian" says.
Under committee rules, it is required that at least one Democrat be present for the panel to vote to send a nominee to the Senate floor. On Tuesday, not a single Democrat showed up, putting the two nominations at a standstill. Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, a Utah Republican, pointed to the "extraordinary circumstances" surrounding the gathering and allowed the Republicans in the room vote to suspend the rules of the committee.
With the committee rules suspended, the 14 Republicans in the room voted to move the Mnuchin and Price nominations to the full Senate, even without the presence of a single member of the opposite party.
They held pro forma sessions to prevent the President from exercising his power to make recess appointments while blocking his nominees.
The rules were put in place for a reason. Changing them in mid stream is a sign of a bully who does not get his way so he uses his power to change the rules to benefit himself.
Then why were y'all bitching when Obama and the Dems do it? Either it's OK, and it's just spoils of war get over it, or there is a fundamental issue that is damaging by behaving in this manner. If it's the latter, we need to fix it.
This is why we can't have anything nice, everything has to be just to spite the other side. But we're all in the same boat, it's one Republic. Both sides are drilling holes in the bottom and then screaming about the holes the other side is drilling.
They ain't gonna do ****. They're going to bitch and moan and in the end, file in line.
The best they can hope for is to put up a competent and quality candidate in 4 years time that can better compete against Trump.
It didn't start there. But there won't be much cooperation or peace in our time. It's not because ONLY the left is engaged in this, it's that BOTH left and right are running this to its breaking point.
We are comparing Trump and Obama and you want to talk about Obama's incompetence?
Lol, you guys are funny.
