Acting AG fired after she declines to defend Trump travel ban

You forgot the part about trump asking the AAG to stay on because his AG is so bad .

She was a holdover from the Obama administration, was on her way out anyway, and she defied a lawful executive order. Doesn't matter if she had a moral objection to it or not.

Absolutely the right thing to do.

like it or not that was the right call by Trump. She apparently was playing politics and she got canned. I don't agree with all of his decision to restrict entries since it unfairly targets some people who already were properly vetted but that AAG was being a partisan. Good move by
Trump

Waaaaiiiit a minute....

The attorney general is supposed to play politics with their position?

Democrats have zero ideas. Just mundane tactics and obsessive temper tantrums.

co-presidents Bannon and Miller are taking trump down

so tell me your legal credentials that allows you to make such a claim. Yates was an Obama loyalist. She's toast. BTW, the New Acting AG, Dana Boente btw I know well. He's a non-political straight shooter. He used to ride the circuit and I helped him in a few tax cases when he was in the Tax division before becoming a US Attorney

If he's a straight shooter then he won't last under the emperor.

So let me see if I get this one counselor... you are suggesting she was playing politics because she deemed his act indefensible?

Nevermind she's right. The ban won't stand. That said, will anyone in government be allowed to disagree with his assholeness?

You're right, it'll only stand for 120 days.

If he's a straight shooter then he won't last under the emperor.

Tomorrow when you go to work, tell your boss (assuming you have one) to **** off. See how that works for you.

Is that the reason, NIMBY? Care to source that?

Which part, Jack Fabulous, that trump asked her to stay on--which is true--or that Sessions is so bad--which is true.

Yates refused to disobey the judicial orders until they're up.

More like Nixon every day, eh Jack ?

Yep. It will end when your king releases his taxes.

Come on man, you didn't really just respond with that. Someone come in here and delete this, I'm embarrassed.

Tomorrow when you go to work, tell your boss (assuming you have one) to **** off. See how that works for you.

She told trump to **** off?

The way I just read it, Yates had ordered the Justice Department not to defend Trump's executive order restricting migrant travel. https://www.axios.com/trump-fires-acting-a-g-2226964333.html

Isn't this insubordination?
The Attorney General has more latitude than most other cabinet posts. It was still an extraordinary move on both sides; but no, the AG is not really supposed to be the lap dog of the President.

E.g. both James Comey and John Ashcroft rejected certain elements of Bush 43's domestic spying agenda, and weren't fired for it.

Equally worrying is that Trump seems to have little patience for hearing any contrary views. E.g. Spicer today blasted the State Department's "Dissent Channel," which was set up specifically to allow State staff to communicate contrary views without retaliation.

That's his prerogative. How can anyone be so ****ing stupid around a guy that likes to say, "You're fired!"?

Yeah, people should put their morals by the wayside so Trump won't fire them.

Don't get him started.

He hates Trump with a passion. It's gotten worse the last couple of days.

There is a proper forum for these kinds of personal insults, Roadvirus.

As I've told you before, it's time for Sen. McConnell to get trump away from Bannon and Miller and then lay the law down .

Lets review the position of Attorney General and what the job is....

The principal duties of the Attorney General are to: Represent the United States in legal matters. Supervise and direct the administration and operation of the offices, boards, divisions, and bureaus that comprise the Department.

IMO, Trump fired her because he's throwing an epic tantrum that he can't fire federal judges for having blocked his ban.

Yeah, people should put their morals by the wayside so Trump won't fire them.

When you're appointed or not the boss, you have a choice; stay and do as you're told or leave.

Come on man, you didn't really just respond with that. Someone come in here and delete this, I'm embarrassed.

You should be embarrassed for voting for the Cheeto.
