Anti-Donald Trump petition to stop UK state visit passes 1m signatures

Yeah. FUN.

These people have a definition of fun I'm not intimately familiar with. When I was young, "fun" meant mixing too many drugs together. Kids these days, "fun" means watching the institutions of one's democracy being rapidly disassembled and replaced with outright fascism. Maybe the problem is the drugs that were available in my day just aren't around anymore.

If it's signed online, it doesn't count. Means nothing.

Actually it does, the fact that the PM's office commented about the petition means that they are taking it seriously.

My wife is from Great Yarmouth England.

She says the same thing.

What a horrible thing to say Jet...Maybe the enemy is where you are most at home?

You tell me....

"Dutch scholar Machteld Zee managed to get unparalleled access to a number of the religious courts currently operating in the UK - thought to number around 30.

Her report, entitled Choosing Sharia? Multiculturalism, Islamic Fundamentalism and British Sharia Councils which has been seen by the Independent newspaper, also claims one judge, known as a qadi at a sharia council also said UK law did not matter in cases of divorce."

Plenty out there...So what the hell are you talking about?

Thank you for showing you are capable of googling, great links.

Now, do you believe that Mr. Khan, despite being a British Citizen, born in London, should be barred from serving in any public office simply because he's Muslim?

I think at a time when we are at war with radical Islam, it is pretty damned stupid to put anyone in office that may or may not have sympathies aligned with these Muslim beliefs.

Jesus Christ.

I've known you for many years, but I never figured you for such an extreme position.

You can take whatever Conservative credentials you think you have about freedom, limited government and personal responsibility, put them on the table and leave the room because you're nothing but a fascist thug with those kinds of views.

Some of you guys have no idea how extremist you've become.

Yeh but we didn't expect this snake to be the one handling it. I'd rather our economy struggle for the next couple of years than deal with Trump right now if I'm honest. The guy is toxic.

I'm dying to know what toxic things he has done to the UK?

Nope, Same guy I've always been Jet....If anything I am tired of the PC crap....Playing this war like we are supposed to, on bended knee, just understand, and be more sympathetic to the goals of radical Islam, then they will leave us alone, didn't work, and is foolish.

"While Khan is and might be those things, he also could be something else entirely. Despite Khan never admitting to, and at times flat-out denying, that he had any ties with radical Islam in his past, the evidence points to the contrary:

In 2001, Khan was the lawyer who got Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan’s ban from the U.K. lifted. The ban had been in place for 15 years.
Khan was a “consultant” on the legal team that defended admitted member of Al Qaeda and 9/11 terrorist, Zacarias Moussaoui.
According to The Sun, Khan defended the comments of Dr. Azam Tamimi, “a senior figure in the Muslim Association of Britain,” while at a Muslim rally deploring the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed by Western magazines in 2006. Tamimi said, “The publication of these cartoons will cause the world to tremble. Fire will be throughout the world if they don't stop.” Khan responded to criticism of these comments by saying, “Speakers can get carried away, but they are just flowery words.”
Khan wrote a chapter as a contributor to a book called, “Challenging Racism: Using The Human Rights Act.” The chapter Khan wrote was entitled, “Actions Against the Police.” According to the Daily Mail, Khan “advised potential claimants to accuse officers of behaving in a ‘high-handed’ manner, because it would allow them to demand aggravated damages.”
There's more, but you get the idea. Khan is not what he seems. He’s very polished, highly educated and speaks well to large groups. That sounds a lot like someone else we know."

London's Islamic Mayor With Radical Ties Talks U.S. Elections | MRCTV

Mr Khan claims to have distanced himself from jihad-monger Makbool Javaid, but
The Sun can reveal the Tooting MP also had family links to four members of
the extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Speaker-turned-lawyer Makbool Javaid was married to the Labour MP’s sister
Farhat from 1989 until 2011 — on Friday shocking footage of him preaching
anti-western hate emerged.

In 2007 Mr Khan admitted that he was related to four other men through evil
Javaid who were members of Hizb ut-Tarir.

The fundamentalist group wanted to turn Britain into an Islamic state under
Sharia law.

Mr Khan’s former brother-in-law also belonged to the notorious Islamist group
Al-Muhajiroun and spoke alongside banned cleric Omar Bakri.

Shocking footage shows of him savaging the West during a central London rally
in 1997, as the crowd chanted “Allahu Akbar”.

Loved it when I was there. I personally visited about 6 times, and made two more "port O calls" in the navy. Used to send the wife back every year for a 2-3 weeks, but she doesn't even bother anymore because it's not even close to being what it used to be..

I'm dying to know what toxic things he has done to the UK?

I didn't say he did....I said he was toxic and I don't think the UK should tie itself to his brand of governing.

I think you should rethink this line of attack Jet.

Why?

You are, in defiance of all the principles of a Democratic and free society, stating outright that Muslims should have fewer rights than other individuals by the sheer virtue of their religion.

You are in favor of creating second class citizenry.

It's appalling and it's unacceptable and you believe what you believe, even if you're not against niggers and Jews, at the behest and under the propaganda of white nationalists who have used Islamophobia to tap into the mainstream.

Fear. Xenophobia. Nationalism.

That is what you have become.

I didn't say he did....I said he was toxic and I don't think the UK should tie itself to his brand of governing.

How would a visit tie your country to his brand of governing? It is just a visit.

Correct. I had a vote and I did vote for Brexit. The most pleasurable vote I have ever had. I lived for that moment for thirty years.

You lived to leave the EU 7 years before the EU existed ?

You lived to leave the EU 7 years before the EU existed ?

But the UK joined the Eu's predecessor, which gradually evolved into the EU, in 1973. I voted to stay in in 1975; after another decade or so I realised that I had made the mistake of a lifetime.
