State depts entire senior management team has just resigned

From reports it isn't everyone it is just the top 4 guys.
after the debacle of the Clinton mess and everything else failure to comply with
court order on FOIA requests etc ... they probably needed to go.

Too bad, so sad. :boohoo:

Fortunately there are a ready pool of Americans seeking good jobs in this economy, and certainly significant numbers of lower level officials who've been there long enough (and who the top guys depended on all this time) who deserve a chance to shine.

Maybe this is another opportunity to "drain the swamp?" (Especially of Clinton/Obama cronies.) :coffeepap:

This could very well be an effort to protect themselves as well. As employees, they have certain obligations to provide information to thier new bosses that could prove harmful to them. Once they leave, that obligation is ended. I'm not saying that is why they are leaving, just throwing out some food for thought....

What makes it unusual is the sheer number of departing veterans and the vacuum of talent it leaves.

Which will get filled with new and most likely better talent, since we are going from an admin. that puts great emphasis on identity to Pres. Trump's admin. that puts great emphasis on ability.

What have those people done wrong? Come on, explain what they have done that is not the right thing, other than work for people you do not like.

Maybe you did not notice this, but we are the top world power militarily, politically and economically. Apparently those people who have gone before have done something right.

Just because we are "the best" doesn't mean that these people are "the best". Given that we can pretty much call the shots wherever we want to, being "the best" isn't that tough. It's like being Yoa Ming playing one on one with yours truly. He will kick my butt with great ease, but that doesn't mean that he's doing his best, it just means that he's over 7' and I'm 5'-7". His being able to beat me doesn't mean that he's dong the best he can.

That's why when I want my car looked at I bring it to my dry cleaner rather than the certified Toyota repairpeople. Why would I want my car looked at by people who have been repairing Toyotas their whole lives? Obviously it's just silly.

It's not taking your car to a dry cleaner, it's finding a new repairman who's better than your old one. If your current guy was the only game in town, then yes, he's the best in town, but if you bring in a new guy who's successful because he's the best, then your certified repair guy suddenly becomes second rate. Say what you want about Pres. Trump, but that guy knows talent and knows how to put the right people in the right jobs.

your analogy sounds legitimate. I just don't see what it has to do with my post. Please explain.

What? The local dry cleaner is going to run the State Department? Well, they might do a better job.

The answer is that the elite have made a hash of things, and increasingly peoples around the world are saying ENOUGH!

I dont feel the need to care about the details of what went wrong where, there is more important stuff to do, shove the old aside if it looks shabby and do something new.

If Trump thinks that we should strip the State Department and start fresh then that is all I need to know.

So you cannot answer the question, and instead just resort to mindless talking points thinking those are good enough.

My guess they were FIRED !

Maybe so.

Our state department has been so incompetent.

You don't go around making foreign relations with countries worse. The idea is to have good foreign relations.
