Spicer: Trump's border wall to be paid for with 20 percent import tax

Cars imported INTO mexico are slapped with a 16% tax already.

Shouldn't it be the same the other way?

It is actually more than that.

The 16% is just the sales tax.

What a dumbass l'll donny is. :doh

Cars built in Mexico also are slapped with a 16 % tax. It is not a tariff, it is a VAT on all goods sold in Mexico. It has a null impact on trade.

Shhhhh, don't confuse them.
I don't think they are capable of being confused.

I'm convinced many of them are just hunks of meat that want someone being a douche, for the sake of being a douche. They are no longer satisfied with having it on mass media.

Over the years I've seen some rather unique negotiating techniques. Threats aren't all that common to my experience. I never respond to them. What I have never seen is a guy threaten to destroy himself and his business if I don't do things his way. That isn't negotiating, that is idiocy. That's your man Trump.

And how that working out for him with Mexico?

Wait and see.

Money was appropriated back in 2006 for it's construction. We already paid for it.

So Mexico is not going to pay for the wall.

If Trump renegotiates NAFTA and we reduce the massive deficit with them, it will be paid for.

Publicly humiliating, bullying, and intimidating your neighbor is not the best way to start any negotiation... just sayin'. I don't see the Mexicans sitting down to anything now. Already there is going to be a huge backlash against any Mexican official sitting down to negotiate anything with those bullying Gringos.

There was an hour long phone conversation just today...

Mexico can't afford any reduction in commerce with the US. This is all for show.

You seem to be confused as to what a trade deficit is. A trade deficit means that Mexican people buy fewer American goods than Americans buy Mexican goods. Even if renegotiating NAFTA ended the trade deficit(it won't), the government still does not get any more money from Mexico. Revenue might go up via taxes, but we are back to Americans paying for the wall with the taxes they pay. Do you have yet another inaccurate argument to make, or is this your last desperate attempt to justify the "Mexico will pay" claim?

I'll tell you like the rest...Hide and watch.

Mexico also can't afford 14 Billion for a wall.

Can America afford the extra billions in costs? Every wire in Boeing's Dreamliner comes from Mexico. In fact increased tariffs on aerospace imports from there would be almost $1.5Bn Talk about shoot yourself in the foot!

So you cannot come up with a single viable explanation of how we get to "Mexico pays". Isn't that surprising...

All I see here is the left being cynical. Try being a believer.

Not accepting something on blind faith is not cynicism.

Another broken campaign promise. Must be a day that ends in "Y"...
