Then this whole thing is a charade. Not that i'm aware of.

Then this whole thing is a charade.
It's a charade if thy are trying to limit President Trump in ways that past Presidents were not. "Scary" is a relative term. Not necessarily.
President Trump asked us why we don't use nukes. That's some scary ****.

Apparently you missed the hysteria when Reagan took office. It was worse than this. MUCH worse. Not necessarily. Past presidents did not give us cause to be concerned with their judgements on this topic.
My grandfather was a colonel in the airforce who spent much of his career fighting for the SALT negotiations and limitations on nuclear armament.
Now we have a buffoon in the white house who boasts that we should build more nukes and suggests that we should use them. Sorry; it is absolutely ****ing terrifying to me that he might be partially sincere in that and i hope congress places appropriate processes in place to ensure that the president cannot unilaterally decide to destroy the planet.

Congress should do nothing and I doubt they will. This is little more than a few D's posing for the cameras.
Of course it's partisan! Specifically, partisan against the biggest loose cannon we've had as a president in recent memory. But thanks for moving the goalposts, since you couldn't stick me on "leftwingers being in lockstep."
While this is all political posturing, I'm sure any law like this would have caveats in case of such a disastrous turn of events.
I seriously doubt if we were under direct attack on our land that there wouldn't be a special session with an expedited move.
We would need to see the mushroom clouds before we can verify.

No doubt the lefties will support this, they're a lockstep party; stragglers will be persecuted. Anyhow, we have at least two Dems that are desperate. This is purely political swaggering, since they know it will never pass.
The nuclear football is the presidents and no one else's
this bill is dead on arrival.
I love the liberal meltdown though. it is just hilarious.

it is meant to show how mentally unstable trump is
with his constant twitter tantrums over petty and insignificant things, trump will do the damage to himself. It's going to backfire, like everything else the Left has tried for the past year.
We wouldn't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud!
That quote applies to W, Powell, Cheney and Rice.
Trump isn't going to do something that goes against his own best interests. A nuclear war would go against his and every other rich person's interests. So I wouldn't worry about it.
I DO think we need to start taking away the President's power to wage "war" without Congressional approval. But that is irrespective of who is President.
Interesting using "meltdown" in a nuke thread.
We would need to see the mushroom clouds before we can verify.
On a separate note, who here can say with absolute sincerity that they're okay with the idea that trump now has the final word in declaring nuclear war?
